At that time, frightening hopelessness reigned in the Bolkvadze family. Loving parents of 15-year-old Mari, and her two brothers Giorgi (8-year-old) and Nikoloz (7-year-old) were struggling alone for the life of the girl suffering from cerebral palsy and prayed, prayed for help. And the Lord heard! He sent you to them, our kind and noble compatriots! You all, who made a miracle, who returned hope and faith to the family!

Thanks to you those children are happy! Even Mari seems to give you her smile.

What can we say, about the distressful mother, Madonna. She could not even imagine what generous souls the Fund’s friends have, friends who gave the powerless mother a chance to forget about her plight...

- Madonna, tell me how your life has changed since we published the article about you?

Madonna: My life? You know, for some time, I even forgot about the terrible fate of my terminally ill daughter. I afforded myself the luxury to feel carefree and happy. For a while, but still. When we switched on the TV, given to us by the Fund, I noticed a kind of smile on Mari’s face. For a second, I thought that she would stand up and start jumping of happiness. Sure, if Mari could move, she would do that.

When I saw my sons’ happy faces my heart started beating fast. Their eyes were shining and the smile resided on their face. 

Thank God he directed me to you. Thanks to your post, many good people learned about us.

And we got so many presents: a blender, a gas stove, a tablet! Have you seen all those diapers they brought for Mariam? And a lot of food! Children at long last ate their fill!

- Which present do you like most?

Madonna: I do like everything! How can I choose? But I want to give special thanks for the blender. It is vital for us to have it because my daughter needs it. Mariam cannot chew, so all her food should be soft.

I used to grate all the food or mash it with a fork before. And the result was not so good. Now it is much easier!

- Is there anybody who you remember most?

Madonna: I do not want to highlight anyone. Many people came in person and brought food and diapers. All these people became our friends. And I fell in love with each of them. It is so important to have a support! Of course, I have a husband, children, sister-in-law and they always supported me. But when a stranger comes to your aid - this is twice as pleasant, it cheers you up and does not let you give up.

- Madonna, we are so glad that you became a little bit happier. One can see it in your eyes. Tell me, how local authorities reacted to our post? Did they ask you about you condition or did they help you somehow?

Madonna: Yes, they did! Moreover, they visited us. The local government granted us products: cereals, flour, butter, bread, sugar, etc. The local authorities support us so much! We are very grateful to them for all they do for us.

- Tell me about your emotions.

Madonna: There are no words to describe all the emotions. Nobody ever helped us so much! I could not believe that it was possible! From the very beginning, I could hardly believe you were going to help us. You have proved, however, that my doubts were groundless. Now I believe in miracles...

You know, when they brought us a whole bunch of gifts, the children began to squeal of joy and jump around the house! They had never had such an experience before! I ran after them trying to calm them down. Marie shot back and forth with her eyes, she did not understand what was going on. It’s usually very quiet in our house (starts laughing).

- What does this support and help mean to you?

Madonna: Quite a lot...You know, I could not even imagine that in this huge cruel world there are so many good people. When the Fund started the charity campaign different people began calling me for support. At that moment I felt myself strong.

 It is really difficult to be a mother of a sick child. Sometimes you ask God “why?” and you fall into despair. But when you have support, even moral support, life becomes much easier. You realize that whatever it was - all for God's will. Your main mission is to withstand, endure this pain and not deprive the sick child of necessary things ... Do everything possible and impossible for them ...

-And what did the kids like most?

Madonna: Oh, they were happy of everything! They shook up the whole district! We almost danced around these boxes (laughs).

But probably the thing they liked most was the tablet. School is over now, so they play and have fun all day long. It's so nice to look at them, I myself was not able to give them this joy ... Boys often run up to their sister shouting: “Mari, Mari, don’t sleep, look!”. And show her animated films.

-Now i would like to talk to the kids, if it is possible. Hey, footballers, tell me, what about presents?

Giorgi (8-year-old): Super! But the best present is TV! It is so huge! When they brought it, me and my brother were afraid to approach it. We were afraid to overturn or break it. It is so beautiful! And so huge! When we turn on the music all our neighbors can hear it. But they are good people and do not complain about us. They always just pass by and smile to us! 

Nikoloz (7-year-old): No, aunt, don’t listen to him! The coolest present is the tablet! It is really great! There are so many interesting things there! We watch animated films, play and watch some educational programs. Well, though, my brother is watches them more often. I prefer playing!

- And what about your sister?

Nikoloz (7-year-old): Oh! I think Mari likes TV most of all. She starts smiling when we switch it on. Especially music! It is a pity that she cannot get out of bed. Surely Mari would dance! And if my sister were able to speak, she would say “Thanks!” But me and Gio want to say “Thank you!” On behalf of Mari as well!

- You are so nice! We are so glad that you liked it all! Now I will go back to your Mom. Madonna, maybe you have some other problems which me might help you to solve?

Madonna: We are so grateful to all who has helped us! I have no right to ask for anything else. But Mariam permanently needs diapers. We need about three packs every month. We can’t afford to buy all we need. The most important thing for me is to maintain the health of my daughter and take care of her. We will overcome the rest! Thanks to what you did for us!
