Seizures twist his arms and legs so that they can break and the mother embraces her son and holds him tightly not to let that happen. They can sit for hours like this. Mom shakes him and tries to stop her son's groans and crying with her songs, but this does not always help. Mom also starts to cry, she feels how her son suffers, she feels his pain, but can do nothing to help him. Imagine how it is to watch your flesh and blood, the love of your life is dying in terrible throes!

Happiness is in the eyes of my child!

May God all mothers of Georgia experience this every moment!

"You can’t imagine how much easier you’ve made my life and my poor Joni’s life!" - Maya Marshania greets us again with tears in her eyes. But now, thanks to your kindness, responsiveness and joined efforts, these are tears of joy, friends!

Quite recently, in our post "Take your monster and get away from my home!" we told you a scary story of mother and son:

https://chernovetskyifund.ge/en/projects/625-marshania/

The story of little boy Joni, who for all 11 years of his life has been hanging by a thread, suffering from terrible seizures, and his young mother Maya, who was left all alone in complete poverty, facing the terrible disease of her son, has been courageously fighting for her son’s life ... Such grief could not leave anyone indifferent!

It’s hard to bear your cross when you have an ill child. But there may be someone nearby who will pick it up and bear it along with you. And it will become easier ... So it happened. It’s thanks to you that Maya Marshania regained the strength and courage to bear her heavy cross! For the first time in many years, the poor mother has felt relief and a taste of joy!

– How has your life changed after we published an article about you?

Maya: It definitely has become better! I've got my second wind. When I addressed your Fund, I could not even imagine that you would react so quickly. You change people's lives, you give them hope. But most importantly, you give them new friends. You gave us so much! You brought us medications, probes, diapers, a blender, a TV ... I just cried with happiness! The blender you gave me made my life so easy! I have to cook soups and liquid food for Joni every day, he cannot eat anything else. It was extremely difficult to do it by hand without a blender, very difficult. And the TV that you gave us ... My boy can watch cartoons now.

Besides that, your Fund brought us a set of bed linen. I had nothing of my own before that. And the dishes! A frying pan, three pots ... You gave me so many things!

Most importantly, now I have a large supply of drugs and medical supplies for Joni. I don't have to worry about that for a while.I am pleased to know that there are so many empathic and caring people in the world! When you are raising a child alone, especially a seriously ill child, when there is no one next to you who could support you, lend you a helping hand ... It’s very hard! But now I know I’m not alone anymore! You’ve worked a miracle!

- How does Joni feel himself now?

Maya: My boy has become so joyful, he even seems to have calmed down. He now watches cartoons on TV every day. So my heart rejoices when I see him watching TV, watching cartoon characters! If my boy is happy, then I will be happy too!

-  Did anyone call you personally after our publication?

Maya: Complete strangers keep calling me. Asking me if we need anything, how Joni is. And, you know, this attention from strangers, their care - means a lot to me! You all helped me to be optimistic about our future.

- Who do you remember most? Do you remember their names?

Maya: I would not like to particularly name anyone, because everybody who called me and keeps calling are so kind to us! But since you are asking, I would like to highlight Teya Megrelishvili. She calls me very often, never leaves us without attention, helps us in any way she can. I know that Teya even told her friends about us so that they could help us too. I remember Sophia. She is Teya's friend and also often calls us, helps as much as she can. And also David, an employee of your Fund. Some medications and medical supplies are not available in our city. And Mr. David handed them over to us from Tbilisi. I feel so awkward that I have to bother everyone. But I have no choice. And I am grateful that people support me!

- What gives you the strength to deal with difficulties?

Maya: My son. He is my only incentive not to give up and move forward. I look into his eyes and realize that I cannot give myself the opportunity to relax. It can lead to bad things. The doctors told me that my child would not live, and I needed to prepare for the worst. But we fought. And then at some point I still got slack. I realized that I can't stand this anymore. There is no one around me to rely on. We were completely alone - me and my Joni. In a moment of despair, I wrote to your Fund. And now I have found many new friends and I will keep on struggling!

- Was there a response to our publication from the authorities?

Maya: Unfortunately, no. There was absolutely no response. I don’t like to judge anyone, maybe they just haven’t seen the post or something else. However, in fact - no, they did not call.

- Maya, what does this support and help of the people mean to you?

Maya: Words cannot describe how much this means to me! It's not even about financial help... Simple words of support, understanding, empathy are sometimes even more important than anything else, they help me to continue living. Today God sent me your Fund and these kind people. I'm happy!

- How do you live now? What problems remain unresolved?

Maya: There are fewer problems. Your Fund has made my life much easier. But the problems have not gone away. Joni and I live in a rented apartment. I don't even know how to pay for it further, where to go with my child. I do not work, because I have to constantly be with my son, take care of him. Of course, one can hire a nurse, but she needs to be paid. And where can I get extra money for it if all the money goes on paying rent, buying food and medications?

- What would you like to say to all those people who helped to raise funds?

Maya: I want to say many thanks! It is thanks to your attention, help, support and empathy that I do not lose heart and go forward. God sees everything! Let the good, happiness and warmth that you gave us, return to you a hundredfold! It is true that good deeds return a hundredfold!

***

Dear friends, thank you very much, everyone who did not leave Maya Marshania in trouble. She is fighting for the health and happiness of her son. As a true mother, she first of all thinks about her child!

But we must remember that an ad-hoc help will not completely change their lives. Little Johnny constantly needs diapers, various medications, as well as your attention and participation! It’s important because children are our future, the future of our country and nation.

Let's keep on helping the Marshania family!

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction, just see our posts on Facebook, or better dial the number of any of our beneficiaries. Call them and you will forget about your problems. Because they are nothing in comparison with the problems of those to whom you opened your good heart and came to help at the most difficult moment of their life.

Our problems are noting if compared... Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now... Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, talk to them. Every time you dial the phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!

Your kindness is a chance for yourself to be happy in everything!

Friends, thanks again to all!
