It is the first time my children went to bed with their bellies full!

“Remember, my children asked you why Santa did not come to them? Now they are sure that he is the one who sends us kind Georgians with gifts! My little ones believe in miracles again! " - Theon's says with tears in her eyes.

It is hard to believe that seven people live in these two little rooms, with no basic amenities and space - the very needy Tamazashvili family, who quite recently shared their misfortune with us:

Although very little time has passed, it seems that the apartment has changed, and these people have become happier: one can hear the children's laughter, there is a large TV on the wall, and the mother is cooking dinner ...

“It's so nice to be busy cooking when there are foodstuffs at home! - continues Teona. “My restless children love to eat delicious food, and my heart rejoices when I see them well-fed and satisfied!” - the young woman teared up again.

- Teona, we are very happy that your life has changed after we published the story about you. Please tell us a little bit more about this.

Teona: Every day I thank God for helping me to find you - you saved my family from starving to death!  I cannot express in words what I felt when I put my children to bed hungry, how it hurt. Look at them now! It seems to me they gained a little weight! Their cheeks are rosy, their faces are happy, and their mood is good. And all thanks to the help that we still get from complete strangers - they bring us food, clothes, toys... Dozens of people called me, telling me not to despair. I have no words! You gave us something that I could not even dream of - a washing machine, TV, wardrobe, beds, bedding, a tablet, a kitchen. I’m talking now and don’t believe myself, because until recently it was about our survival, and now I have the best assistant in the world - my favorite washing machine! Can you imagine?! Here is our new plasma TV, which my children dreamed of so much. It is on now from morning till night, kids watch cartoons, and I watch my favorite TV series. Most importantly, my children sleep comfortably in their new beds! Thank you - you are doing a great job!

- Thank you, Teona! What did you remember the most? Maybe you remember the names of those who helped you?

Teona: I will never forget the day in when you published an article about us.First calls, first packages, guests coming to visit us - this unconditional Christian love and compassion amazed me so much! Just imagine - people from different cities started visiting us. Keti Kvizhinadze from Tbilisi, for instance, brought us bags full of clothes and food. Children have never seen so much chocolate in their lives! Girl Magda gave us 200 GEL! And just not long ago, two guys came to visit us and brought us meat, butter, flour, sweets for the children, they also gave us 90 GEL. And all this in the midst of a pandemic, risking not having time to get home before curfew! For me every call and visit are examples of humanity - people deprive themselves and share everything they can: household chemicals, clothes, food... I ask God to protect each of them! Another girl, after reading our story, helped us get financial assistance from TBC Bank. They transferred us an exorbitant amount of money - 1000 GEL! I was able to pay off the debts for the kids' studies; besides that, my younger children were ill at that time, and I managed to take them to the doctor and buy all the necessary medications! I am grateful to everyone!

- Thank you for your kind words, Teona. Was there any response to our post from the local authorities? Maybe you applied to them again?

Teona: There was no reaction from them, unfortunately. I haven’t applied to them anymore. I am sure they would reject my request again...

- Teona, don't be upset. Did you expect such support from the friends of the Fund? Tell me about your emotions.

Teona: To be honest, taking into the account unemployment and the crisis in the country, I did not expect such feedback. Probably, after so many disappointments in life, you gradually lose hope. You have no moral right to demand support from anyone, because everyone has their own worries and problems. It seemed to me that it was impossible, in such a difficult time to lend a helping hand to a stranger, depriving yourself or your own children of something. How wrong I was! Hundreds of people, raised money to save us from hunger, to improve our living conditions, to give joy to my children - sometimes it was even their last lari... My amazement was followed by immeasurable gratitude to our people, the most caring and kind! I'm very happy, indeed!

- Teona, you are so emotional telling us about your feelings. What does this help mean for you personally?

Teona: Recently we have had a particularly difficult time, my children used to be hungry for several days; the darkest thoughts came to my mind and it seemed that a little more and I would give up ... The help that I’ve got from the Fund brought me back to life, instilled hope for a better life in my heart. You really saved my children from hunger! I feel that we are not alone, that there are caring people who will help us, support us, and share their single piece of bread with us. Thank you for the joy you have given to my kids!

- Teona, I would like to talk to your children now. Alexi, what have you got?

Alexi  (8 years old): Look, my new cars, they are very fast, exactly as I dreamed! Thank you! Finally, each of us has our own toys, and we don't argue anymore! Andria, show me what gifts you have got. (addresses his younger brother.)

Andria (4-year-old): This is the most cool one! (Proudly hands me a car.)

- It is really cool! Elene, and what present have got you?

Elene (5-year-old): Now I have the most beautiful dolls in the world! I can also change their clothes. I want them to be trendy. When I grow up, I will also dress beautifully!

- I am sure, honey! Giorgi, how are you doing at school?

Giorgi (10-year-old): The Fund gave me a tablet, now I attend online lessons and communicate with my classmates! Thank you for helping me so much!

- I wish you success, Giorgi! Teona, let's get back to our conversation. Are there any problems we could help you to solve?

Teona: It’s so embarrassing to ask you for anything else - you have already done the impossible. Our family will be grateful for any help, be it food or clothing. Also, we do not have the Internet, we cannot afford paying for it monthly. Any help will be a great gift for us! Thank you for giving people hope!

The large Tamazashvili family is in great need, they are surviving in unbearable conditions. The same question keeps being acute every day: "Will be the food enough for all the children today?" The family will be happy to get any help: food, clothes, toys for children, kitchen furniture, wardrobe, and financial support. Please do not leave these lovely kids in trouble, because they just began to believe in miracles and kind people!
