“Merab is our crybaby, he is the youngest, but the most chowhound! He doesn't let the bread out of his hands, he thinks that we will take it away from him ... but in fact we even give him our sausages! Mom brings sausages from the canteen once a week. As many as 10! But we give everything to Merab, he's little! And we are all adults, we understand that mom has no money. But Merabiko doesn't understand it. He doesn't understand anything yet. He just cries: "I want some meat, give me some meat."

Project completed!

I want to hug you all!

- It's going to rain candy now! - Gabrielle shouts. - Get ready, Nino, Merabiko, stand together. One! Two! Three!

- Hurray! Four chocolates fell on me, - Nino shows me her palms. - And even more fell on Merabiko.

- t’s OK, - Gabriel says. - Let him pick them up. He loves sweets more than you.

Nino (insinuatingly):

- Merabiko, would you like me to help you?

Merabiko (answers in English):

No!!! My sweets, my kaka*!!!” (*kaka - that’s how Georgian kids call sweets)

We are visiting the Mamuladze family - we wrote about them couple of months ago (https://chernovetskyifund.ge/en/projects/677-mamuladze/description).

The mother of four greets us smiling: “Look what they've come up with. Children go crazy from joy. They got so much attention, care, gifts after your post. They are overwhelmed with emotions. You are certainly doing a very important job - make people happy. I want to thank you on behalf of my family and everyone you help."

Dear readers, we are happy to inform you that thanks to your donations, the family now has a new gas stove and washing machine.

“They came to visit us from television. The TV crew brought us sweets, toys, diapers, bed linen,” - Eka tells us what happened after the publication.

- I am surprised that the baby answers me in English.

Eka: Our Merabiko is an English-speaker. (Smiles.) He never had a teacher - his teacher is TV. Apparently, Merabiko has a good aural memory. He listens with half an ear and remembers. He knows a lot: numbers, alphabet, colors, antonyms (thin - thick, small - large), the names of vegetables, fruits, animals. You can ask him, and you will be surprised. (Smiles.) And where is he? Look, he crawled under a table to hide from you.

- Merabiko, what is the English for “good boy”? Can you tell me, please?

Merabiko:“No” (Sound from under the table)

- Well, as you wish.

Merabiko:“Boy”

- Although I can’t see you, but well-done!

Merabiko:“Good”.

- Smart boy!

Eka: Now he has two big cars - “down-tracks” - I hope I named it properly. He dreamed of such cars for long. We did not manage to make him a birthday present on December 29. But his dream came true thanks to the journalists. To be honest, our boy was not left without attention on his birthday either - our neighbor brought him a cake. There are many kind people. Now we are convinced of this.

- Eka, you can address them directly. They will read our post.

Eka: I will do so, because I will have no opportunity and time to meet all of them in person. But I will thank you from afar. My dear people, I want to hug you all from afar. May God give you happiness, health, prosperity. You cared about my children as it they were yours; you took care of them. You opened your hearts, you supported us indeed. Thank you for being so warm, sincere, and caring. Our life is not easy, but, keeping your kindness in our minds, will help us to resist all difficulties.

Gabriel: Mom, have you finished talking to ma’am yet? I want to show her something.

Eka: Do you see, we are still talking? Why are you so urgent?

Gabriel: You know, we light a gas stove without matches!

- Great, it’s so modern!

Gabriel: You push a button, and the electricity ignites the gas. It wouldn't work on the old one - it was ugly, burnt, stained. And this one is white, beautiful.

- The main thing is what it can do and what you cook with its help.

Eka: (Laughs.) It can do everything, if only there were foodstuffs. I usually make fried potatoes, soups with pasta or rice... Or I warm the food from a social canteen, cook cheap sausages. I really want my children to get at least some vitamins, proteins... I am afraid they can get sick of the meager meals they have. The oven is lovely, but it still serves a decorative purpose. We have almost nothing to put there. I can do anything: I could bake pies and cakes, and casseroles - very delicious. Mari wants pizza and pastries - just what we don’t have. And the little ones are not picky - they eat everything that I give them. Mari is knacky, she could bake herself. She helps me with cooking on weekends: she prepares breakfast - fried eggs or fried potatoes.

Why did I start complaining? The gas stove saved me from the hassle. I used to cook on a wood-burning stove, and the pans were all smoked. It’s incomparable!

Mariam: Thank you very much for making us such a gift. Some day we will have foodstuffs too. Everything will be fine, mom. We did not expect that they would bring us so many sweets and food. Thank you for making my brothers, sister and parents happy.

Gabriel: Sweets were enough for two weeks. Today is the last candy rain. Yeah, those were a good two weeks. (Dreamily.) I kept sweets and gave them out. For Merabiko more than for others - he would cry otherwise.

For instance, Nino, my little sister, loves chips more than sweets. She is a real chip eater. When they came from television, she asked them: "Where are my chips?" (Laughs.) And one guy from the crew said: "We will bring it to you next time."

- Guys, I am really happy, that you liked the gifts. Now let’s ask your mom. Eka, do you use the washing machine?

Eka: I'm waiting for when it gets warmer outside, so that I can install it on the balcony. Now it is cold in Shindisi in the mornings and evenings. In such conditions the washing machine can go out of order. We have barely got such an expensive thing, we must take care of it. To install it in the house, you need to make piping for water, you need hoses. But everything is ill-equipped here. Installation costs will be at least 200 GEL. So, that why we are waiting for when it gets warm.

You know, hassles in a large family never end. And I don’t want to talk about problems, but it turns out that way.

- What worries you, Eka?

Eka: I want my children to make their way in life, but I have no idea what to do for that... My son attends free rugby lessons. Hopefully, he will manage to succeed as a sportsman.

- And what about the local authorities? Did they somehow react to our post? Did they do anything even for the sake of appearance?

Eka: No point seeking help from them. Administratively our house belongs to the Mtatsminda district of the capital. But apparently, we are too far from there. I wrote a petition to the city hall asking them to provide us with housing or cover a monthly fee for some rented apartment.
But, alas, alas... I’ve heard that this is one of the options. But they refused strictly with no explanations. I am tired of begging...

The Chernovetskiy Fund is so attentive to us. You ask how we are, you help us. And you think that everyone acts the same way. But alas...

***

Friends, could we arrange two more weeks with sweets and candies for these wonderful kids? Or give Gabriel a rugby ball so he can practice? And pots for Eka so that she doesn't cook in rusty, soot-covered kitchenware on a new stove? They are not used to good things and take it as something accidental. Let's help our heroes fulfill their small dreams so that they can dream of something big. Georgian children should not dream about food. No way! Let our children aim something significant.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better dial the number of any of our beneficiaries. Call them and you will forget about your problems. Because they are nothing in comparison with the problems of those to whom you opened your good heart and came to help in the most difficult moment of their life.

Our problems are noting if compared... Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now... Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!

Your kindness is a chance for yourself to be happy in everything!
