Cancer is the worst word in the World. – Nino Beselia begins her story, a serious cancer patient!
There are thousands of such poor people like me... Let the friends of the Fund know about it. And let them dedicate their prayers to those people! We can't pay for the treatment. We suffer so much! Cancer is a terrible pain! Many people immediately surrender to death! But does the Lord want his creatures to die? Shouldn't people live every minute, every moment given to them, believing and hoping for God, for a miracle. And I am one of those who have courage and faith! I believe in my miraculous salvation... and I pray for others who are as miserable as I am. We all need help and if anyone knows about suffering of their neighbors, help them in any way you can or at least say kind words of support...! After all, Georgians are a small people. We are all like one big family!
Her health condition is extremely severe and each day it is getting only worse. She does not sleep at night, moans from hellish pains in her chest, one hand is almost paralyzed, and the body is covered with ulcers. Nino suffers a lot, especially when her medication runs out. After all, there is often no money to buy new ones! She moans so much that the neighbors wake up. Unfortunate woman.
 We talked to Nino Beselia.
– Nino, tell us about yourself, when did you discover your illness?
Nino: Before my illness, I lived a full life. I worked tirelessly, sewing in the morning, cleaning in the evening, and a few years ago my chest started to hurt. I did not pay attention when the pain became unbearable, I endured... I told myself tomorrow I will go, I will collect a little more money and go to the doctor. But that tomorrow never came. Until something burst in my chest, I was bleeding. That was when I went! They told me I had cancer.
 – Who have you addressed for help?
Nino: I appealed to the Mayor's Office and the municipal health and social service. But they don't finance all the medicines... And where can I, a sick and helpless woman, get the money for it?! 400 lari per month for treatment, this is an unaffordable amount for me.
– Nino, probably many people have the same problems as you, don't they?
Nino: There are thousands of them! We are so numerous... We are condemned to a slow and painful death! We have nothing to lose, we are ready to burn ourselves alive, maybe this will help someone in the future?
– How do you earn your living?
Nino: I receive a social allowance in the amount of 100 lari. That's all my income. I rented a room, but I couldn't pay for it for several months, so I had to move to this garage. Friends let me in.
– What can you say about your family?
Nino: I don't like to talk about it... When I got ill my husband kicked me out of the house. I have forgiven him.... Who needs a sick, moaning wife? The only thing I can complain of is that I live in this garage. Sometimes I think that many dogs have a better life with good owners... And before that there were constant beatings, swearing and humiliation.
 – Who helps you, because it is simply unthinkable to live with just 100 lari, moreover for a sick woman?
Nino: I have very good neighbors. They also rent rooms in these premises. They bring us food, tidy up everything, address the officials on my behalf, as I am not able to move any more. When I have terrible pain at night, the neighbors do not leave me alone. They come and calm me down, going through it with me. But they can not help financially, they are also in dire need. Thank God these people came into my life. I don't know what I would do without them. They were the ones who contacted your Fund, they didn't tell me, and when You came, I couldn't even believe my eyes. I'm used to the fact that no one needs me, that I'm always being "kicked off" without being noticed, and you came without invitation...
– You shouldn't get desperate. If a person believes in God sincerely, he will certainly overcome all obstacles.
Nino: I constantly pray to God, cry out for help. I believe he will send me relief. I want to live, I just want to live and this is my most cherished dream.
– What else do you dream of? Do you have any cherished dream that you ask God for?
Nino: I dream that the pain will subside, that I can become a full-fledged person... I dream of seeing the sea! This is probably my most cherished dream.
– Nino, perhaps you think a lot about your life?
Nino: Yes, you know, after the illness, there was a lot of time to think... before I did not pay attention to any little things. I didn't appreciate human relationships... Maybe that's why God punished me. I took everything for granted, and now, even one word, even one call, means a lot to me!  This gives me an understanding that someone needs me, that I live for a reason, and that my fight against cancer is not in vain!
– Do you believe in recovery?
Nino: Of course! Every second! Sometimes, if I suddenly start having bad thoughts that the cancer is not being treated and that I will die anyway, I start praying, and these devilish thoughts immediately go away.
– Do you have many friends?"
Nino: You know, it's strange, but yes, a lot! They say that when a person feels bad all his friends turn away from him, but in my case it "worked" in a different way. I made friends after I got sick! Complete strangers became my family, which I never had. My parents died a long time ago. I don't have any brothers or sisters.
– What is the most important thing you value in a person?
Nino: Compassion! The ability to empathize and feel the pain of the others... The ability to calm and find the right words. Care! These are the most important qualities in any person.
– Would you like to make new friends?
Nino: Of course! The more people can share your grief and your sadness, the easier it becomes!
– Did you help people when you were healthy?
Nino: As I said, I sewed well. And more than once she sewed clothes for the homeless. If this is considered a help, you can assume that I did.
– Who are your parents, are there any siblings?
Nino: my parents died long ago and I have no relatives. But I have so many friends and they are like family to me! I thank God for them! And they may not be rich in money, but they are so kind! When I "leave", I will pray to the Lord to bless them in everything.
– Nino, how did the treatment go and how much money did it cost at each stage, what did the doctors promise and why didn't it happen?
Nino: When I needed an expensive examination, you were the only ones who gave me a helping hand and collected 3,300 lari for me! Then, a year and a half ago, it literally saved me! I was diagnosed and started a treatment! Now, when I needed help, I dared to disturb you again. I know you don't leave your own people! I'm sure you can help me this time, too.
– What will happen if we collect this amount?
– This will give me life and dreams of recovery! I will have time to say more prayers. And this will give me an opportunity to make my most cherished dream come true – to become healthy and to see the sea!
