He knows about my dream to devote his life to serving him and fulfill, I think, my main goal is to give the joy of a complete family, the joy of feeling loved - a small creature who is devoid of all this!
For a long time I want to adopt a child from an orphanage. That is what I prayed for and asked God before I knew that I was terminally ill ... Now, the prayer has also added a request to allow me to live on ...

What to tell ... She usually lived, grew up in a happy friendly family, studied, worked ... For 18 years she was a teacher in a kindergarten. These were wonderful years ... I adore children and with pleasure and love I remember every kid who passed through my hands ...
I started a family quite late — my love — I met David when I was 37 years old. She got married and for 11 years we have been living, soul to soul. We have a calm little family ... Our only pain was that God did not give us a child. How I dreamed about him! In the kindergarten, I raised thousands of children, and myself ...
When all our hopes of becoming parents were exhausted, Dato and I decided - we’ll take the child from the orphanage! They started collecting documents ... But in December last year, I found out that I was sick.
- And the moment came - after ...
- First, I will tell you what was the worst. I found out about my illness from an email! Not from a doctor who could be human, would somehow smooth out this terrible news, inspire hope, say - do not be afraid Irma, this is not a sentence, you can fight it ....
No ... I opened the e-mail that was sent from the hospital and saw in it my sentence - "carcinoma"! At that moment, the whole world collapsed for me! How many unrealized dreams and deeds, how many hopes and plans were destroyed by one thing, this word!
But in just a few minutes something seemed to turn upside down in me, and I already knew that I would not die! I will do everything to live and fulfill the cherished dream of becoming a mother ...
- Irma, do you think cancer is a sentence or an appeal to fight?
- Not a second sentence! To everyone who reads my story, I want to say - do not give up! Fight, do not lose heart! Today cancer is not a sentence; it can be overcome if you are strong in spirit, if you believe in the Lord and in yourself!
I have two difficult operations behind me, now I am undergoing radiation therapy ... You can’t even imagine how hard and painful it is. Both physically and mentally ... But, I know, with God's help I will win this fight!
Corr. - Do you think your illness is the machinations of evil forces or the punishment from the Lord? And if so, for what?
“I thought a lot about it ... At first I was offended by the Lord, grumbled - why did he send me this punishment? Why to me? I still have no answers to this, but I think that God sent me this ailment as a test.
He probably wanted to point out to me that I do not live the way He pleases, I do not follow all his commandments ... So that I radically change my life ...
- For example, in what?
- I’ve been "flying in the clouds" all my life, I have been proud and proud. And it wasn’t like that for me, and then ... The Lord wished me to look at my life with different eyes, change my attitude towards people, become kinder and more attentive ... Probably so ...
- You have already said about your first experiences after the diagnosis. And who was the first to be told about him?
“I called my spiritual mentor and asked for his support.” His words that the Lord will not leave me and that I should fight for my life became a huge support for me, I gained strength in them and decided - I will not give up! I will live!
Only after that I told my husband about the diagnosis ... He was very worried, fell into despair ... And it turned out that neither he, but I reassured him, said that cancer is not the end, but the Lord’s test, that we will overcome everything and again we will be happy ...
- Do you believe in recovery?
“Then why fight?” If you do not believe in this, then you need to lay down your hands, surrender to the disease and just live out your days ... Probably, many do so, but not me! I know what I’m fighting for!
Once again I will tell all those who are now alone with their illness - do not give up! Cancer is not the end, but possible You must reconsider your life, draw conclusions, overcome the disease and live on, obeying the laws of God!
- Where does you get so much strength from, what do you draw them from?
- Belief in the Lord and the support of relatives are my main strength and support! After I found out my diagnosis, I made a pilgrimage to many holy places in Georgia, including visiting the graves of Saints of Father Gabriel and the monastery of Kintsvisi, at the father of Naum, they say that his prayer works wonders ... My spiritual guide came to I went home and read prayers for health ... I never lost Faith ...
- And how do you manage financially?
- My husband and I had our own savings, because we both work. Rather, they worked ... Because of illness I can’t ... All the time in hospitals ... Our relatives and friends helped a lot, even the employees raised a certain amount.
- Did the authorities help you somehow?
- Yes, they helped a lot. Part of the amount for the two operations carried out was covered by the state universal insurance policy, and the city hall also helped ...
- Tell me, at what stage of treatment are you now?
- I underwent two operations, as doctors say - successfully. Now I am undergoing radiation therapy. I hope that all this will help me overcome the disease ... All my prayers addressed to the Lord about this ...
