Katie Melua in Georgia – singer’s charity to save Vardzia
Georgian musician in Great in Britain Katie Melua came to Georgia for charitable purposes. The singer visited the monastery complex of Vardzia together with the representatives of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation and learned about the international expedition.
Katie Melua invests on her own to save the ancient frescos of the monastery complex of Vardzia and she promotes popularization of the oldest monuments in Great Britain.
With the money donated to her charity concerts, she together with the National Agency of National Heritage Preservation supports the project to save the frescos of Vardzia. With funding of the Agency and with the help of the specialists of London Courtland Institute of Art the preservation researches of Vardzia paintings are conducted.
