Charity event was held in the prison
On March 28, 2015 in Rustavi prison №17 a charity event was held. Highly-qualified physicians of different specializations conducted consultations and examined the convicted persons. The organizers of the charity event were – “Georgian Dream – Healthy future” (Chairperson – Keti Barateli) and International Organization for Human Rights Defence and Social Security of Prisoners (Chairperson Giorgi Tevzadze). The Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance, Giorgi Mgebrishvili, attended the charity event.
According to one of the organizers, the defender, Giorgi Tevzadze said that such charity events sponsored by “Georgian Dream – Healthy future” and International Organization for Human Rights Defence and Social Security of Prisoners will be held in the future as well and it will not be only one-time. It should be pointed out that the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance has a positive attitude towards relationship with the civil society. The best example of it is that they provide active support to this project.
