Kindness and mercy can create a miracle!

The eyes of five little angels, burning with happiness and full of hope, met us at the Kepashvili. Their former dark and gray life has turned into joy! The fear of each new day and the hopelessness that had lived in their hearts before addressing us have been replaced with faith in people and hope for a better future. 

– God bless you, and His grace will not forsake you! – Nino, the mother of these beautiful children who have found faith in people, keeps saying. – You can't imagine what you've done for us! You gave joy to my kids; you gave them a fairy tale… Thank you, good people learned about our plight and we have real guardian angels, and you are our saviour angels!   

The life of Nino Kepashvili and her five little children has changed incredibly after the publication of their inhuman existence… The family lived in a rented barrack with a collapsed roof and sunken floor, moldy walls and a single bed for six… There was no money to buy food or clothing, let alone books, toys or sweets…

– Tell me, how has your life changed after we published an article about you?

Nino: So many people have found out about us! We were helped financially, with food, clothing, even disinfection solutions. You know what time it is now... Thank you all! Chernovetskyi Fund and good people have changed our lives, the lives of my children. Every day is now a holiday for us… They are especially happy with the TV-set and computer that they gave us! In conditions of forced self-isolation this is our salvation! You can't go out on now… And your gift, the washing machine and the gas stove, is such a happiness and help for me, which I never even dreamed of… 

– And what stands out to you in particular? Do you remember the names of the people who helped you?

Nino: Our terrible ramshackle barracks have gone to eternity! After the publication, the blessed woman Tamara Kankava came to us. When she saw what terrible conditions we live in, she found and rented a new apartment for us with her own money – this apartment! Let God bless her! Tamara paid for one month, and now the rent for the apartment is paid by two friends, Anna Kuchava and Tamara Dgebuadze… I have no words to express my gratitude to them! More particularly I want to mention one girl, Tatia Koniadze. She became an example of kindness and humanity for me! Every fifth day she comes to us with her husband and brings food… She gave us a helping hand not once, not twice, but constantly! There are such people! Not a day goes by that she doesn't call and ask how we are doing… God grant her all the best! For instance, today Tatia has been here with us. She has brought disinfection solutions: she didn't even forget about it! 

– Did the local authorities react to our post in any way? Did they ask about your condition or help you in any way?

Nino: No… There was no one at all, as if we didn't exist… The only thing they didn't forget about was suspending our social allowance due to the fact that we changed the address. Now we are waiting for them to remember us and come to check on us again. 

– Nino, tell us what emotions the children had when they received the gifts.

Nino: Anna and Barbare – they are 12 and 10 years old – were especially happy with the computer. Gifts from the Fund– a washing machine, gas stove, TV and computer – were brought to us in the morning, when we did not expect. It was real happiness. The children did not know how to express their joy: they stroked and hugged the gifts, not believing that all this was for us… 

Ephemia, who is a year and a half old, does not yet understand everything that is happening, but she also feels that something magical is happening. 

– How did the boys react? 

Nino: Three-year-old Nikola dreamed of a toy or a uniform of Spiderman. And good people reading about it in your article brought him the uniform of this hero. You should have seen what was going on in our house! Nikola even went to bed in this uniform... and, of course, the magical happiness for Nikola and Lazare (9 years old) were sweets… They have never seen so many sweets and various goodies…

– Girls, tell me, are you happy?

Anna (12 years old) – The aunt who was a journalist came to us and turned our life into a fairy tale. As "the good fairy" from Cinderella she said that everything would be fine with us and so it turned out. On the second day, we woke up in another fairy tale! And we are really happy now! 

Barbare (10 years old): – It is true! Anna, do you remember them asking us what we wanted? And we didn't want to talk? But then the aunt wrote everything down. I remember everything! You asked for a computer and now we have it, mom asked for a washing machine, and Nikola ran and said "Spiderman, Spiderman" and I whispered in her ear "I want a beautiful house". That's all fulfilled!

Lazare (9 years old) – Huuuuurrayyyyy! We have everything now! In the refrigerator, there is both milk and delicious yoghurts! 

– What does this help and support mean to you personally?

Nino: These days, my eldest daughter Anna asked me: mother, are you happy with gifts? And I told her that I was glad to see such good people in the world. After all, today it is difficult for everyone, everyone has their own problems, but there are still people who can do others such good and create grace. 

Of course, every sign of attention and every gift for us is a breath of fresh air, it is a hope that we will live, that we have a future. A lot of people came: some brought money, some food and clothing, sweets, books, household utensils… A low bow to each of them and a huge thank you! May the Lord increase their kindness and return it to them a hundredfold!

Nino: No, I can't ask for anything else… You've done so much for me… Our closest people didn't do for us what you and our new friends did… 

Another family has become happier, and the children and their mother have a glimmer of hope in their eyes! And all this is thanks to you, caring people who can see and feel the pain of others, do not pass by and lend a shoulder!
