Even the cockroaches are cute on our TV!

“There are cockroaches on our TV! They are so cute and funny,” - 10-year-old Dato tells me and looks at me point-blank, expecting to see my surprised eyes.

- What do you mean cockroaches? Are they real? How did they get in there?

Dato: Ha-ha-ha, not, of course not! My sisters and I watch a very funny cartoon about cockroaches, and when it starts and I shout "cockroaches", my mother also gets frightened, and asks me: "Where?" And I answer her: "Here on TV.” It is so funny!

- Oh, so are you joking then?

Dato: Yes. I used to be sad, but now there is a reason to have fun! Look how many new things they gave to us! And a TV set, and a washing machine for mom, and a stove, and a chest of drawers! But most of all we like the TV with "cockroaches"!

- So, you just watch cartoons about cockroaches?

Diana (8-year-old): No, ma’am, this is how he learns to draw. He even had an exhibition at school. Do you know how smart he is?

Dato: You are smart too and you can make delicious fried eggs!

All together we managed to support them; unfortunately, we did not manage to solve all the problems of this family, but we succeeded in reaching good hearts this time too! Thank God for that!

- Mzia, what was your attitude and expectation when you addressed our Fund?

Mzia: When I wrote to the Chernovetskyi Fund, I did not know what the result would be. But they called me back so quickly, paid attention to us, that I realized that they would help us. It is well-known, that strangers are more likely to help than acquaintances. I don’t want to mention how many times I applied the Town hall for help. I kept going there for ages, but who cares? They did not bother themselves helping me! (she grins.) They give you one-off aid just to get rid of you. If they helped, and everything was fine, would I have addressed strangers for help?

The day when they brought us gifts from the Fund was a big surprise for us. I could not speak, I almost burst into tears with joy.

- By the way, maybe the local authorities have somehow changed after the publication? Did they start acting somehow?

Mzia: They did. Two employees of the Town hall visited us. They discussed the opportunity of allocating funds for us or purchasing apartment for us. It's been two months now. But no changes yet. Words have not yet turned into deeds. One should be judged by deeds, right? I’m waiting. I don’t call them myself.

- I see. Let's better talk about what's already real.

Mzia: It is so real! This new dresser is a great thing. I put it in the living room. I used to store children's clothes in plastic bags right on the floor. When you needed to find something, you had to turn everything upside down. Clothes got dirty and dusty. Now everything is in order. You just pull out the drawer, and immediately see what is where. So, you don’t waste your nerves, and your work. The washed clothes are stacked, and everything is in order.

The washing machine saves my time. You know that when you have many children you are always short of time. And you have to distribute your time so that you can do as much as possible. And when you spent a lot of time and energy doing one thing, you don’t have enough of it for the rest. I taught my daughter how to use it, and Diana helps me.

They brought us a TV set for the New Year. And the children immediately laid their hands on it - because it has Internet access. Rarely it is our turn to watch TV, so then I choose to watch movies and my husband watches news. Let the children rejoice. They need it more. Dato finds a lot of useful things there.

- Dato, did you immediately get how to deal with it?

Dato: It’s easy. I saw my friend accessing Internet via TV. You can find anything on the YouTube. There we found the cartoon Oggy and the Cockroaches. Have you seen it? Just search for Oggy and the Cockroaches. It’s very funny.

- Since you advise, I'll watch it. Although I hate cockroaches.

Dato (laughs): I also watch videos with tanks. And there are also drawing lessons. They show you how to draw different things. Marie also sits by me to watch. Then she asks for a paper and pencils. But she can't draw. But I still give it to her so as not to upset her.

Mzia: Datuna had an exhibition recently. Tell her, Datuna.

Dato: It’s true.

- Wow! Come on, tell me!

Dato: I had a lot of drawings, and I thought that I should show them to others. I went to my classroom teacher Nunuka-mas and said: "Let's make my exhibition." She hung my drawings on the blackboard in the classroom. All the children saw them, and Nino-mas came to see, and the director Lola Tsintsadze too. It was before the holidays. It's a pity that not all of my drawings did fit there on the board.

- We are so happy for you! And the readers will be glad to know about your success.

- Such adult words! Mzia, your son has already assessed the current situation. And what about you, how are you doing?

Mzia: Much better than before. Many household issues have been resolved. Soon we will install a new gas stove, and then life will become even easier.

Diana: Mom, can I cook on it?

Mzia: First I will teach you, then I will let you. (Smiles.)

Dato: Diana knows how to make scrambled eggs and soup.

Diana: Datuna, let me say myself!

Dato: Are you shy. (Smiles.) She is shy. (Tells us.)

Mzia: Both the Fund and the readers have done a lot for us, and I sincerely thank everyone for that. But one can't run away from financial problems. The social allowance is not sufficient for four children. Due to illness, my husband cannot work, and I cannot either due to everyday routine.

- Mzia, have you made friends with any of our readers?

Mzia: When the post was published, many people started writing me words of support on Facebook. They added me as friend, we communicate. They want to come to visit us and meet in person. I'll be happy!
