“Mom, why are they looking at me like that? It’s because I'm not like others?" These words hurt me more than a machine gun fire. These words kill me. “He is not long for this world, - the doctors said 10 years ago, when Giorgi was born. - Be prepared for the worst!” But his mother Tinatin refused to believe that. Giorgi spent 35 days in intensive care unit... For 35 days his mother asked God not to take her son away from her. God heard her - Giorgi stayed with his mother, and a lifelong struggle began! "The most difficult thing in raising a special child are the "good advices” of complete strangers and the gazes of bystanders who feel sorry for either you, or the child, or themselves, because of seeing this..."

What a miracle!

The day Tina addressed our Fund, she found out that she was pregnant!

Thanks God! Congratulate Tina, friends!

May God grant her baby with happiness!

"You warmed my heart!" -Tinatin thanks the whole Georgia. Tinatin is the mother of the wonderful boy Gio (you see him on this photo), who was struck by a serious illness. How happy he is now!

He greets us with a radiant smile.

Smile, ringing laughter and clapping hands - these emotions are priceless! Little Gio cannot hide his joy - he is happy! He is on cloud nine. It is impossible to convey this in words!

Gio is shy, it is hard for him to speak, but one can notice that he wants to say a lot.

“Dad went to a football game. Our team, “Dila” from Gori, played there. And I watched this game on my new tablet, which you gave me. When dad came back, I told him how it was. He didn't expect it. You know how cool it is!"

He wants to share his happiness with everyone! Gio is a special child, and his joy is also special - it is boundless and infectious!

Giorgi's mother Tinatin admits that the project dedicated to her son helped her to reconsider her previous views.

“I was very disappointed in people,” Tinatin says with excitement in her voice. – “I have withdrawn into myself because of the large number of offenses inflicted on me. But when they started transferring money to me, I wanted to cry. Was I wrong?! What a blessing it is that I was wrong! There are good people, all is not lost yet. Do you know that you warmed me?"

- Tina, thank you for being so sincere describing your feelings. This is only possible when you trust someone. This means that the project has done a very important thing - it encouraged you to look at people in a new way.

Tinatin: Friend of mine advised me to contact the Chernovetskyi Fund. At first, I refused to. I'm not used to expecting good things from people. To be honest, I had no hope when I wrote you. People close to us did not help us, and I didn’t know what to expect from strangers. Actually, no one is obliged to help, people have enough problems of their own. I did not expect what began after a while. I really wasn't ready for this scenario; I was not ready for attention and warmth. But you warmed my heart, I gradually started dismissing some old grudges. Bitter gloomy thoughts went away. I saw how many people were eager to help us. You took the load off my mind. Now I think that you should not paint all people with the same brush.

There are, of course, those who deliberately or thoughtlessly hurt my son and me with their tactlessness. But I told myself that I would not worry about them and get nervous.

I want to cordially thank everyone who helped us. May God be with you all the time and help you in your deeds and undertakings. May you have the life you strive for, and everything that you dream of. You have become a source of hope for me. I realized that I was not alone.

- Tina, which of the visits would you like to single out?

Tinatin: Most of the readers helped us remotely by transferring funds, many thanks to them for that. I managed to get acquainted in person with representatives of Giorgi Khodjevanishvili, a parliament member from our region - Shida Kartli.

They asked me about what we needed and then they brought us foodstuffs (buckwheat, rice, lobio, vegetable oil, etc.), hygiene products (wet wipes, disinfectant solutions). They also gave me two 50 GEL vouchers, which I used for buying diapers and medications at Pharmadepot.

Then they visited us on Easter Eve, and brought us Easter cakes, eggs, and foodstuffs: cereals, pasta, clarified butter and vegetable oil, condensed milk... Then we had a conversation - I told them about the main problem that worries us now. It is difficult for us to pay monthly rent for a rented apartment. They promised to help us if we are officially registered in Gori. But here is a problem - I am registered in Kaspi, and my husband is registered in Kharagauli.

I know that if you ask someone to help with such issue, it might seem suspicious, people might think that you want to take away their apartment. But maybe there is still a kind person who will agree to register us? We just need to be registered officially here. I ask God about it.

Here I want to mention that the owner of the apartment we rent in the refugee settlement is an incredibly delicate and kind young man. He is always ready to put himself in our position, he asks me not to be nervous if I am late with payment. “Give me as much as you can,” he says. I bless him for his patience and understanding. He is an orphan, like my husband.

- Has Giorgi already shown his tablet to his friends?

Tinatin: Not in live. (Smiles.) In fact, I want Gio to focus on other things at school and day center that he attends. Gio is at school in the morning, then goes to the day center. They have sports, art, psychology lessons there till 17:00. An occupational therapist also works with children. This specialist helps them to integrate, teaches children with disabilities to be more open, to communicate without fear, to feel comfortable in a team. We have been visiting the day center since 2015. Gio learned a lot there, made friends.

"Right, Gio?" (Gio likes that we are talking about him, but he is silent for now. He just nods his head.)

When Gio comes back home, then the tablet is at his full disposal, - continues Tinatin. Our neighbor offered us to use his WiFi for free, he told us his pass code. So now we have the internet.

Gio loves Georgian songs and sings well himself. He sings the second voice. He finds videos and enjoys watching and listening to them on the tablet. He likes watching cartoons, and he especially likes watching programs about animals. As a matter of fact, my son has an inexplicable fear of animals. He overcame it to some extent when he was involved in the hippotherapy program. There was an Equestrian club nearby. Healing horse riding is beneficial for children with disabilities - all muscle groups get involved. Now, unfortunately, there is no club anymore, the horses have been stolen. But Gio remembers that, he watches video with horses and other animals as well. Now there is more interest than fear. I am very happy.”

Gio: Mom, why don't you tell them about football? (Gio decides to ask).

Tinatin: Because you can tell yourself. So, tell them. (Cheers up her son.)

- Gio, what is this story about?

Gio: Dad went to the match. Our team - “Dila” from Gori - played there. And I watched this game online on my tablet. When he came back home, I told him how it was. He was surprised. (Smiles.)

- Would you like to show off your tablet, Gio?

Gio: Sure! (Looks back at his mom.) But you cannot bring it to the day center. A neighbor boy came to see me today, and I showed him.

- What a good, handsome, and obedient boy you are!

(Gio smiles.)

Tinatin: And very warm and kind! Anzor Gvadzabia, an actor of the Gori theater, called Gio an intellectual. (Smiles.) He used to stage short scenes at their day center, and now he is friends with children.

- I would agree with him.

Tinatin: I have good news that I want to share with you. In the same period when I addressed the Chernovetskyi Fund, I found out that I was pregnant. What a happy coincidence! I dreamed of a second child for 11 years. But my dream came true just now. You have a magic touch, you bring good. (Says with tears.) Now I live with the hope that my Gio will not be alone. (Smiles and wipes away tears.) He will have a sibling who will look after him.

***

Friends, Gio is a very hospitable boy and is happy when he has the opportunity to communicate. We managed to melt the ice of mistrust, which fettered Tina's heart for a long time. Kind deeds heal wounded souls. Warm words bring back joy and lightness to people. Gio and his family need such words and deeds.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better dial the number of any of our beneficiaries.
