Another miracle happened, friends: the girl, who got forgotten by her family and relatives became our common daughter! She’s really our daughter now. She has never received so much attention and love! You can notice it by her face!

When we launched a fund-raising campaign for Anna-Maria, her mother Shorena told us: “Who needs us? Who will help us? Even our relatives turned their backs on us”. She did not believe that the kindest people in the world live in Georgia and that a stranger can become even closer than a relative!

In a short time, a miracle happened! Hundreds of kind people donated funds for little Anna that made it possible for the girl and her mother to get treatment and medications. It also helped them to buy home appliances they could not even dream of.

Little Anna-Maria can’t talk, but it doesn’t matter. The photographs show her emotions, which became the biggest reward for us!

- Shorena, how did your life change after we have published the post about you?

Shorena: My daughter and I were completely alone before you appeared in our life: ​​my husband left the family, my parents abandoned me. I had no hope, no support - just despair and fear for my daughter, which became even stronger because of our financial problems: we lived from hand to mouth, there was no money even to buy diapers for the baby...

On the day when our story was published, complete strangers started calling me. Someone asked what we needed the most, and someone called to support me. The amazing kind people started visiting us and bringing us food and clothes. With the money raised by the Fund, they purchased a gas stove and a washing machine for us! Now my everyday life became much easier, it is pleasure for me to bustle about in the kitchen, and my hands do not freeze anymore from washing in ice-cold water.

And thanks to your help, I took care of our health: we took all the necessary tests and are taking the medications prescribed by the doctors. A new life has begun for us, thank you!

It seems that the child is even more happy with the gifts than her mother!

- Even your faces have changed. I remember when I saw you for the first time, we did not manage even to calm the girl down - she was crying so bitterly. Shorena, did you expect such a response to our post? Could you please tell us about your emotions?

Shorena: After so many disappointments, when we got offcast by my husband, parents, and relatives and left without help and support, I no longer believed that strangers would ever get interested in my life.
And how can one expect help in such a difficult time? Everyone experienced hard time because of pandemic. Everyday more and more called us, they began to write to me on the social network, to bring gifts. I could not believe my eyes! Surprise gave way to joy! Hundreds of people collected money for us so that we could buy everything we needed. I followed the process, but I couldn’t believe that someone credited 100 GEL, and someone 1 GEL, everyone transferred us as much as they could, can you imagine? These are indescribable emotions - I don't even remember when I was so happy - probably when I was a child...

“I believe that our dreams will gradually come true”

      - Would you like to single out someone from your new friends?

    Shorena: I should certainly tell you about that! Previously, I read about such support only in magazines and did not believe it was real. A few days after the publication of our story, a woman named Nino called me late in the evening. It turned out that our fates are similar: her husband left the family, and she was left without financial support and help. But Nino is terminally ill - she has cancer... She tries to somehow survive with three children in her arms. Can you imagine how difficult her situation is? But she found the strength to support me! Nino said that we - mothers - are very strong and should not fall into despair and show tears to our children. This conversation influenced me very much. We talked for a long time, cried, laughed...

I haven't had a heart-to-heart talk with anyone for so long because I lost trust long ago. No one was interested in my problems. Nino has become a very close person to me. She said the right words I needed at that particular moment, she seemed to wake me up, she gave me an incentive. I am grateful to this woman of light from the bottom of my heart, and I ask God to help her overcome her disease. Good people shouldn't leave us so early, they shouldn't leave their children orphan!

- Shorena, God is merciful, let's believe in the best! Was there any response to our post from the local authorities? Did they somehow react on our post?

Shorena: It’s a very sensitive topic to me. No, my dear, there was no response from them at all. The state partially covers our rent cost and we still try to survive on 170 GEL per month - that’s the entire help from them.

- Shorena, please don’t get upset. What does the support you got from the friends of the Fund mean to you?

Shorena: As I have already mentioned, recently I fell into depression, terrible thoughts were spinning in my head, I didn't even have the strength to get out of bed. I felt that I was sick physically and mentally. Fear for my child's life and our everyday routine destroyed me slowly but surely and did not allow me to live in peace. I suffered weakness and constant headaches, and my baby had progressive diathesis. I had no way to go!

I addressed you at the most difficult moment in my life, when there was almost no hope left... You brought me back my faith in good people! I know that if my child has nothing to eat, there are you - caring people who will not let my baby starve to death! You have fulfilled my old dream and donated household appliances, which made my chores around the house much easier. And most importantly, I started learning to love myself! I used to think that since everyone was leaving me - I deserved that, that probably, I was bad and had to suffer in these terrible conditions! Am I really bad?

Since your appeared in my life, I have heard so many good things about myself, I got so much warmth... Now I stopped blaming and scolding myself because my daughter needs a healthy and happy mom! And I will manage to cope with all the hardships that befell me...

- Could you please tell us about those difficulties? How can our readers help you?

Shorena: I am embarrassed to ask for anything else, you already have done impossible! Thank you for that! If caring people will read my words, I would like to ask them for help with Anna-Maria’s health care. This worries me the most. Because of the diathesis, she still needs to be tested, she will need doctors' consultations. But I can’t afford that. My daughter does not have orthopedic footwear (15 cm), clothes and toys. It hurts me so much that my child is deprived of childhood because of permanent lack of money...

As for me, I would be so happy to have a new fridge, the old one is about to die. I have almost no clothes, that’s why i wear these torn trousers. As you can see, we live very modestly, so any help will be a huge gift for us, be it food, hygiene products or clothing. Thanks to everyone who helped us and is planning to help us even with the words of support! You are my hope!
