Six-year-old Giorgi has been standing with a towel in his hands for over an hour. He is sleepy, it's already ten o'clock in the evening, but he can't sleep. "I'm waiting. I must wait for my turn to the bathhouse. It's not fair! Do you wait a long time for your turn if you need to go to the toilet or bathe? " - Giorgi asks me waiting to get a serious answer from me.

He is not a load or a burden - he is our beloved son!!!

REPOST, MY GOOD MAN! LET YOUR FRIENDS ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORK OF MERCY!

“Luka won’t be able to cope without our help. He will remain hungry"

Do you also have to queue to get in the shower? At first, I thought it was some kind of game, a childish fantasy, but no! The Alania family has no time for jokes. For six years now they have been living in a shelter for homeless people, and there is only one bathroom for six families. That’s why there are queues to the bathroom. The family lost their big house - they could not pay off the debt on time, and six people found themselves in the street. When there is a sick child in the family and there are no means to treat him, parents are ready to leave their lives for him, let alone the house.

Luka was born sick. “He is not here for long,” - the doctors said. “There will be only problems with him,” well-wishers echoed them. Young parents heard lots of hurtful words, but they firmly decided: Luka is their son, and they are ready to give their life for his life!

Victoria: For 17 years now, our whole life is focused on Luka. All we live for is to create comfortable conditions for him. Look at him! He cannot do anything himself, but he can explain in separate words what hurts him. He deserves our help! Even his brothers David and Giorgi, although still little, understand that everything should be as Luka wants. Music should play on full volume when he wants that. And when he watches his favorite cooking show, there should be perfect silence in the room. We do whatever Luka wants.

"When Luka watches how they cook in the TV show, we don't dare to disturb him."

  - Tell us about him. Is he sick since birth? What’s wrong with him?

Victoria: He was born seven-month premature. They immediately said he had cerebral palsy. His brain was damaged. They told us all sorts of terrible stories - that we would not be able to cope with him, that he was doomed to torment. But we did it, as you can see that. Everyone gets surprised when they find out that he can talk. But no one knows how much of our effort it took.

  - How does Luka’s disease manifest itself?

Victoria: Look, he cannot walk, he sits in a wheelchair all day. Due to the transitional age, his mental state worsened. He has become aggressive - he can hit his brothers when they want to play with him. Sometimes he starts screaming loudly. Sometimes he likes music, he listens to it, sings along, and sometimes these sounds annoy him. Sometimes he wants to play with cars, but then he can hit someone in the face with them... Something like that. Now they are sitting and playing quietly, and in a minute, Luka can throw all the toys and start screaming.

“We do everything as Luka wants, but he can still hit us in the head with a toy. It hurts, but I endure, Luka’s doing that not out of spite."

  - Is his disease curable?

Victoria: No. We have treated him all the time since birth, he spent half of his life in hospitals for his 17years. We never refused anything when we heard that something could help. He was operated on - his tendons were lengthened. The doctors said that this operation would allow him to walk, but it turned out to be the opposite. Before the operation, he could at least stand on his feet, and after that he became chained to a wheelchair. He can only sit, that's all! He can't even get up. My husband ruined his health: he worked as long as he could, he dressed Luka and took him out for a walk from the third floor - it’s tough. He got spine injury, the doctors strictly forbade him to lift weights, and he said: "This is not a weight - this is my son.” He cannot get treatment himself - all we have is for Luka. And whatever remains is for us.

- What means do you live on?

Victoria: Our only income is the social allowance and Luka’s pension. But we took the pension in advance - we needed medications, and now, until 2024, we will have to pay off the credit from Luka's pension. As I said, my husband Teimuraz, cannot work due to health problems and I can’t cope with Luka alone. He dresses him, bathes him, takes him out for a walk. It is very difficult to bring down a 17-year-old boy from the third floor, carrying him in arms! It is hard to live here...

“Only dad can walk with Luka. But everyone wants to get in daddy’s arms."

  - You lost your house and live in this shelter now.

Victoria: Right - we mortgaged our house ten years ago for Luka to be operated on. But then we did not manage to pay off the debt, and they kicked us out from there. Since then, we have been living in a shelter for six years, where there is one bath for six families. In summer it is extremely hot in here, and it is impossible to get warm here during the winter. For an hour now, Giorgi has been waiting for the bathroom to be free to have a shower.

Giorgi (6-year-old): Is it life? Tell me!

  - You are so serious, Giorgi!

Giorgi: How to not be serious? It is a madhouse all around!

I am ready to do anything for the sake of my brother, even the things I hate.

  - Where is a madhouse?

Giorgi: Both at home and at school. I'm the only serious person in our class, and the rest just run around like crazy. Both girls and boys, it is simply impossible to withstand...

  - My God, your life is so hard!

Giorgi: True, true! It’s terrible! I can't even choose a wife for me! All these girls are not serious at all!

  - Isn’t it too early for you to choose wife?

Giorgi: It’s just a right time! I need to take a closer look! How she cooks, how she sings or dances, how she works.

  - Wow, what a serious requirement!

Giorgi: Look at me, I am so good! And I deserve a good wife!

  - Where are you planning to work to keep your family?

Giorgi: I can’t work, I am too little! My brother will grow up, he will work and give me two hundred GEL for all kinds of sweets. Do you know what a sweet tooth I am? Next time when you come to visit us, bring me some sweets.

"Look how good I am, and I will have the most beautiful wife."

  - David, are you as serious as your brother?

David (11-year-old): No, he is the coolest here.

  - Are you choosing a wife as well, as your brother does?

David: No! But I already know what she should be like. Smart and a little bit beautiful! So that she loves to read books and so that she could talk about space. I really like to get new knowledge, and it will be more interesting to do it together!

  - So, you study space?

David: It is a very interesting topic! My dream is to have a telescope! I would look at planets. But I know that this dream would not come true yet.

  - Why do you think so?

David: Because I do not live alone! Luka's interests are the most important for all of us! He needs diapers, medications, normal food. There is no time for telescope! I will buy it myself when I start working.

"Do not be afraid, brother, I will carry you in my arms when I grow up!"

  - Have you already chosen your future profession?

David: Yes! I want to be a sailor. There is a Maritime Academy, here in Batumi. I will enter it and then become a sailor. Maybe I'll get to the rank of captain. Then my family will forget what grief and sorrow are! Do you know what huge salaries they have?

  – What will you buy first of all?

David: I will treat Luka. I will take him to the best doctors! And then I’ll buy the rest. The telescope, the car, the apartment... But Luka - first!

Luka (17-year-old):Luka wants to say too.

  - Luka, I did not forget about you. Do you also want to tell me about your wishes?

Luka: Luka wants TV, listen all songs! And bake cake!

  - Will you bake a cake yourself?

  Luka (17-year-old): Help mother. Buzzz...

Victoria: He shows you a mixer this way. He loves watching me when I make cakes. He looks at the mixer and sometimes he asks me to turn it on. Probably he loves the sound.

- Victoria, let’s summarize our conversation. You should tell us what you need the most.

Victoria: Foodstuffs, cabinets, a gas stove, a foldable couch, a table. That’s all that I can ask you for right now. The children have no clothes, but we manage to cope somehow. There is not enough food, but we got used to that. I don't even know is there anyone who lives easily and can help us. But I saw many stories about selfless help on your page.

Giorgi: And bring yummies for the most delicious boy! I love sweets so much! I will treat all of you, if there will be enough!
