“We don’t even have any photo albums left to remind us of our old life. It’s as if we didn’t exist,” - says Diana, turning over the ashes with her hands. – “I often come here. My heart hurts, but I hope that maybe I will find something from our old life here.” On November 18, 2021, the life of the family was divided into two -old life and new life. Just one spark turned all dreams, hopes and expectations into ashes. The family was left in the street, and their beautiful house burned down in a few minutes. Only a strong smell of burning and ashes remained from their former life... They were already sleeping when the fire started to consume everything. They barely managed to get out dressed in pajamas. Their neighbors gave them jackets, blankets and even socks.

Liana: 'Your love is in every brick of this house'

'How sweet it is to sleep in our own home!' says Liana. 'My husband and I sleep on the floor in a room that hasn't been repaired yet. But I am so happy, as if I am sleeping in a five-star hotel. The walls, roof, windows, and doors are already there, and the rest, will come with time.'

Their previous house burned down right in front of their eyes. They barely managed to escape as the flames consumed the building within minutes. In their state of shock and grief, neighbors took them in. For two and a half years, they lived in three different families' homes, for which they will be grateful for the rest of their lives. But what is it like not to even have your own spoon? To blame yourself for inconveniencing others?!

Oh, how sweet it is to live in your own home, to sleep under your own roof. This new house was built by the whole world, by all of you."

Inver: "Thank you Lord, we are now protected from rain and wind! Glory to all the kind people who helped!"

Liana, how did you feel when you crossed the threshold of your new home and spent the night here for the first time?

Liana: The past sorrow came before my eyes again. How our house was burning and disappearing and how our entire family was crying. How neighbors were comforting us, bringing warm clothes. The smell of smoke, the fire...

I remembered how the construction was progressing. Both relatives and neighbors worked for free, with great enthusiasm and dedication. They didn't just it lay brick by brick, they put their hearts and love into the new house. When the roof appeared in the house with your help, my heart calmed down. It meant that our new home wasn't a dream, but everything was happening in reality. Then you sent new windows, new metal doors, and I was finally convinced that all of this is real.

At the site of the burnt-down house, they began to build a new one

"Both relatives and neighbors worked selflessly, with great enthusiasm and dedication"

"They put their hearts and love into the new house"

"When the house got its roof, windows, doors, I was convinced that it was no longer a dream, it' was reality!"

Liana: The first night in this house, I didn't sleep. I cried sweet tears from good memories, from an overflow of feelings. Your love, your warmth, your kind attitude brings tears to my eyes.

- You are very emotional, Liana, and we understood your feelings without words.

Liana: Wait a moment, the lump in my throat will pass, and I will say words to all the people who helped. You are very loyal, kind, wise. You treat people with great respect and attention. You have a big reservoir of love and warmth, which you generously share with those who are in great need of it. Thank you for healing us with your love all this time, taking care of us, and healing our emotional wounds. They've almost healed completely. I ask the Lord to grant you a happy peaceful life, abundance and joy, rewards for all your efforts, robust health, and may all your aspirations come true.

Inver: I will always remember that without you, we wouldn't have gotten back on our feet. I will always remember how you tried for us, how great the desire was to save us. I bless and pray for you every day.

Inver: "Nothing compares to the feeling when, after long torment and wandering, you step into your own home"

Liana: "I was greatly comforted when readers called and supported us: 'I will help you. I'm with you until the end, until we build the house.' Or: 'We will do everything, everything will be fine.' A person in distress behaves like a child. They need to be comforted, cherished, given hope. And you are the best at that, I am already convinced.

- Have you personally met anyone from the readers?

Liana: Our family met wonderful Lali from Khoni. She came with her son, brought blankets and mattresses. My husband and I sleep on them now. I told Lali personally, and I'll repeat it now: "Thank you for understanding me, as a woman to a woman, for feeling how hard it is to live in an empty house, what difficulties are at every step, and for actually helping us. I hug you, dear Lali, words are getting stuck in my throat."

The military from Khoni also helped us. Thank you, guys. This is a very honorable and timely decision..

- What is currently the most challenging for you as the homeowner?

Liana: Difficulties are all around now, no matter where you look. But I won't complain, I won't lament. We'll endure everything. The main thing is a roof over our heads.

I cook food in the yard. Now, a metal tripod serves as my "stove." I maintain cleanliness and order. Well, what of it? People used to cook food like this, and we'll live like this for a while, endure until life gets better. I wash clothes manually under the tap, the water pressure is low.

Clothes and belongings are stored on the floor in cardboard boxes and bags for now. My husband made a small wooden table with his own hands, and we are happy. We'll gather around the table without chairs, have lunch. The children don't complain, they endure everything and understand.

Dato, a staff member of the Fund, recently delivered two beds with mattresses to us. Oh, how much joy it brought! We gave the beds to children and my mother-in-law, they need them more. My mother-in-law has blood pressure issues, she can't sleep on the floor. And I don't want my son and daughter to hurt their backs. Diana, my daughter, sleeps with my mother-in-law, and my son sleeps alone in another room, as he wanted, even though the walls are bare.

Overall, you have very harsh, almost Spartan conditions, but your outlook is optimistic. Let the children say what they need most?

Diana: I'll dream for myself later, once we've fully recovered. Right now, both for me and for everyone, the most essential things are needed: a wardrobe, a washing machine, a gas stove.

There are still many challenges: there isn't even basic furniture or appliances, but Diana believes that life will gradually improve

Malhaz: Exactly, we need appliances. I won't ask for anything else.

Diana: Can I ask for some books for myself? I really miss my burned library. It's so wonderful to have new books in the summer.

Liana: I take on occasional work in a confectionery workshop a few times a month. But it's very small amount, just enough for food.

- Liana, have the local authorities responded to your plight and participated in solving th  e problems?

Liana: This time, everyone showed unity. They also made a contribution to our new home.

Inver: The most important thing is that we are not wandering around other families now; we have our own corner. Thanks to God, we are protected from rain and wind! And thanks to all the kind people who helped! This world relies on people like you; you are driving it forward. You have given us a strong belief in people. Without such faith, life wouldn't be worth a penny.

Friends, it's tough to start a new life from scratch. Sometimes it can take years. But the Zeragia family is very motivated by you. Liana and Inver are ready to achieve everything through their own effort and hard work. To make their task a little easier, you can help them with appliances, furniture, and the most essential items. Thank you for saving another family, for restoring faith in people.

Please, friends, let's unite once again and show this family that we will not allow poverty to be an unwelcome guest in their home.

Let's not think that one-time assistance is enough for this family. They have to cope with daily routine, and they need our support in this battle.

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.

Our problems are nothing if compared... Here are true misfortunes, in front of your eyes! Just thank the Lord for what you have. You are the happiest person in the world! Remember this and help those in need.

Unfortunately, problems of this and other families do not end here and now... Therefore, from time to time, look through the stories of unhappy people on our website, and talk to them. Every time you dial the Phone of an unhappy person, God is blessing you! For sure! Go on helping these families! This is the best service to the Lord!

Friends, there is one more request: if you know about the misfortune of a neighbor or friend do a godly deed, drop us an email at: office-fsp@fsp.ge.

Your kindness is a chance for yourself to be happy!

Friends, thanks again to each of you!
