About 50 years ago when Aleksiy and Daria got married they dreamt to create a happy family, just as anybody else does. But the destiny prepared an evil stroke for them, and they have not recovered from it so far…

The first child was born with infantile cerebral paralysis. The relatives insisted on leaving the baby in the maternity hospital, but the mother's heart could not make such an antichristian step. So the parents brought Lela home.

The mother was taking care of the sick child, took her to the doctor and kept up the household; and the father worked day and night to earn the living and to pay for the expensive treatment. So it lasted for many years, until the parents got retired, and in some time a new tragedy occurred. Aleksiy got seriously ill. At first he had a blood stroke, and then a heart attack which made him bedridden…

Today these people live in deplorable condition. There is no joy in their life anymore. 

"not a wink of gladness, not a single way of escaping. Each day is like the previous one… I am looking after my sick husband and my 50-year old daughter who is like a baby. It is a ball and chain for me. Lela is even not able to set a spoon to her lips, so I have to feed, clothe and bathe her… my little girl. I am crying because of the unbearable conditions and the fate which I have to live through. Sometimes I think that I don't want to live anymore, but who will look after my family then? They will not survive without me", - Says Daria.

The Garibashvili family is starving in every sense of the word. The pension of the parents and their social allowance is spent on medicines for the ill father and… for bread. The dismal scenery in their apartment would render any person sad. Such poverty, helplessness and despair is not commonplace! 

"Most of all I dream of… cookies and buckwheat porridge… I love it so much, but I don't have it. And I also remember that there is some tasty ice-cream", - Lela told us. Despite her ICP, this 50-year old woman does her best to help her mother, and one cannot help crying seeing her desperate attempts.
