The breath of this cute 3-year-old girl can stop at any moment. Her life hangs in the balance and she manages to fight death only with God's help. Lord, do not leave this child in the hands of the devil and let little Cecily live! 

     For already half a year the child does not come to consciousness. She is fed through a special probe. The poor mother takes the girl from one clinic to another; she sleeps on a bench near the ward; she spends her last savings on numerous medications; she cries and cries for help, but no help comes.

      But as paradoxic as it may sound, instead of support she has received a stab in the back: payment of state social benefits has been suspended! The paltry 60 lari which she spent on diapers and medicines are now probably spent on awards to officials, as has happened more than once in recent years. 

     Till when social agents will continue to rampage and arbitrarily dispose of taxpayers' money, our money?!  But while society does not demand to restore order in the system of the Social Service Agency from the authorities, thousands of our fellow citizens will suffer from these monsters. They have no compassion and sympathy for people; there is only money on their mind and not a wink of conscience! 

      Why were the social benefits suspended? What has happened to the child? Where does the family find money, and what do they hope for? We discussed these and other topics with Nestan Bolkvadze, Cecily's mother: 

      – Did the Social Agency explain their actions somehow? 

Nestan Bolkvadze: – They said that we pay for utilities, which means that we have money. Yes, we pay for electricity, and how could we heat the room in winter otherwise? Our family consists of 8 people: grandfather, grandmother, uncle with his family, who have no place to live…

– A your house, what is its condition? 

Nestan Bolkvadze: Oh, this is the old house of my husband's parents, in the outskirts of Batumi. It is so dilapidated that wind blows from all sides, the living conditions are terrible…

 – What does the father do?

Nestan Bolkvadze: He's a handyman. When he manages to find something seasonal or one-time, it is a great happiness for us. All money he earns is spent on medicines and special food for the child.

      – What is the girl's condition at the moment?

Nestan Bolkvadze: Still without change. It has lasted for a year and a half after the epilepsy attack when she was 1.5 years old. 

      – And who pays for the child's stay at the hospital?

Nestan Bolkvadze: 80% is paid by the government, and 20% – by us. The disability pension of the girl in the amount of 200 lari is completely spent on medicines and special food. We don't have any other sources of income. My husband and I are constantly half-hungry. I am ready to endure everything, if only the breath of my daughter did not stop. 

      – And have you asked for help from the authorities? 

Nestan Bolkvadze: I have addressed the local administration, but to no avail. I can't forgive myself for making the wrong choice at the election and giving my vote to unworthy people. I want to tell the people that during the elections they should make a well-thought decision, never trust propaganda blindly and give their votes to worthy people, those candidates who will care for poor people rather than for their purse. 

– Nestan, do you believe that your daughter can recover?         

Nestan Bolkvadze: This is my only dream. I don't have any other dream. Every mother can understand my condition – I even cannot tell I'm alive. I have spent a year and a half on the verge of a nervous breakdown, but still I hold on. Sometimes they allow me to pass the night in the ward. I sit near my daughter and quietly pray to God to send her mercy, to give relief and breath of life!

Fear... That's what fills the life of little Cecily's parents. They are trying to help, to jump over their possibilities... But alas, it does not always help... How could they find money? What should they do? There is only one hope left, to ask people for help and to hope for their response.
