What is this young man thinking of when looking at us? What kind of emotions is his heart filled with? After all, he just wants to walk in the Park, sit in a cafe, meet with friends or just go to a store…

Georgiy Vardiashvili is 38 years old. And 18 last years have been "a life beyond". Georgiy's disability was caused by a terrible car accident. When his lifeless body was taken to the hospital, he was all covered with wounds, fractures and, of course, was bleeding profusely. He was in a coma for 6 months, and the doctors gave a disappointing forecast: they "prepared" the mother for the worst outcome, but miracles do happen! Half a year later, Georgiy opened his eyes and wiggled his fingers. He was disconnected from the artificial feeding apparatus; his vital signs improved and the young man was discharged from the hospital.

"God heard my prayers, and gave us mercy. He didn't take the dearest person from me and gave me his life for the second time. The Lord is my fortress," – said Nana Vardiashvili, Georgiy's mother, with whom discussed the problems and numerous needs of the sick young man.

      – Tell us, what is Georgiy's condition today?

Nana Keburia:  He has a serious brain injury; he suffers from epilepsy and has frequent convulsions. He has been bedridden for many years, but then with my help learned to sit and even slowly move from bed to chair. He cannot speak or eat independently, neither can he cope with his needs. He just stares at one point and practically does not respond to anything.

     – How do you manage to take care of such a serious patient alone?

Nana Keburia: Yes, I'm alone, but I am doing everything possible to help my son to live; I have to manage everything... well, we are keeping on. My husband abandoned the family long ago, and the second son died. I sold my apartment, my car, my valuables, and even my library to pay for surgery and rehabilitation course. Georgiy had a lot of books; he studied in the second year of the law faculty at the University.

     – As far as you have sold your apartment, you live in a rented one?

Nana Keburia: Yes, that's the way it is. This apartment on the outskirts of Tbilisi is paid by the mayor's office. We're a socially unprotected family! The conditions here are more or less normal. Thank God, we don't have to spend the night on the street!

    – What do you do for living?

Nana Keburia: The disability pension in the amount of 200 and the social allowance of 120 lari. The money is mainly spent for medicines and diapers. It's so expensive! And after all still it is necessary to pay for utilities, and to buy food... The young man constantly needs rehabilitation treatment, but there are no means for it. I even once decided to sell my kidney to get money for my son. But I was dissuaded. They said that after such an operation, I will not be able to take care of a sick person.

     – Who helps you? Did you ask for help from the local authorities?

Nana Keburia: The Ministry of Health gives some small money for medicines three times a year...  A few years ago, good people financed the Georgiy's stay at magnetic sands at the Black Sea resort in Ureki... Some relatives help, but not systematically, there is no constant help. The soul hurts, the heart cries, but I do not give up. We need to continue the fight for Georgiy's life!

    – Haven't you addressed your local deputy for help?

Nana Keburia: Our Deputy in the Parliament is Beck Odisharia. During the election campaign he promised mountains and marvels. Then I thought: "Here, this man will definitely help my Georgiy regain his feet," but things turned out to be different. It was my mistake.

     – Nana, it is very important to vote for a candidate who knows the needs and problems of people. And there is hope that if such a candidate is elected, he or she will do useful things for the voters, and not sit idly in the office. All voters are given a chance to make the right choice. A choice in favor of decency, professionalism and humanity! After all, electing a person to such a responsible post, we hope that by becoming a Deputy, he or she will contribute to solving the problems of the population.

Nana Keburia: Can I interrupt you? Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to your Fund. 3 years ago you provided significant assistance to my son. I was desperate then, I didn't know what to do. And God sent you to me! Expensive medicines, hygiene products, food, household utensils – you gave us all these things (note: crying) and you gave us hope. We are grateful all the people who gave us a helping hand. In addition, my son is registered with the Domestic Care program of your Fund. You have a very attentive and caring medical staff, which constantly monitors Georgiy's health. This help is enormous! May God bless the founder of your Fund who cares about such unhappy people as we are!

   – All your dreams are related to your son, that is natural and understandable...

Nana Keburia: I dream of nothing in the world but the health of my son. All my aspirations are directed only at him. After all, I'm a mother! But every time it gets harder to provide him with adequate care. But I believe that God will not leave us and good people will give us support!

Dear friends, as you see, the situation in this family is rather complicated. Georgiy needs medicines, hygiene products and food. Give him a helping hand and hope for the future! Our account:
