It is hard to imagine that these wonderful children, these lovely angels live in terrible poverty, being constantly malnourished and wearing rags. Look into the eyes of these innocent children! How sad they are and scared because of the poor living conditions and the monotony of everyday life! No joy, no bright colors, no light in their lives! 

     Do they have a chance of normal development? Will they be able to grow up to be worthy citizens of their country? If these children remain in this state, the answer will be negative. Unfortunately, nobody cares about them, neither the rural municipality, nor the municipal deputy and the public of the region. 

    Thank God, they are generally healthy! God forbid something happens to them, because parents have no chance to cure them. The father of the family is looking for a job to no avail, the mother is in despair, and the children are the ones to suffer most in this situation, these charming innocent creatures! All this is so painfully familiar! 

   We talked to Tamta Chitinashvili, the mother of four minor children living in Sakobo village of Signakhi Municipality: 

    – Tamta, what is the main problem of your family? 

    Tamta: My husband cannot find a job. By profession he is a worker, but wherever he applied, everywhere the answer was the same: there are no vacancies. So we live without any income. We have no land to sow something and sell it. We are very poor; our children are constantly malnourished and wear rags.

  – For example, what do your children eat? What is their daily diet? 

      Tamta: Beans, greens, bread, watery soup... In 2015, the social allowance was suspended. We starved almost for 6 months. Thank God, now we receive social allowance. It is very little, but enough for bread and utilities. We have to survive somehow…

     – Is the house where you live your own?

      Tamta: This is the house of my husband's parents. It is so old that it's about to fall apart. The ground floor is absolutely unsuitable for living. Upstairs the room is rather big, but it is absolutely unsettled. The walls, as you can see, are shabby, covered with mold, the furniture is old, there is no washing machine, the refrigerator is so old and it barely works. In winter, we heat the stove, if my husband manages to collect dry branches... 

– Does anyone help you? Have you asked the deputy of your constituency or the municipality for help?

Tamta: No, I didn't. The village is very poor, everyone around us is in need, and the village administration does not have the budget to help the poor. People are trying to leave the village; there is nothing else to do.

– Why don't you address your local deputy for help? It is in his authority to request the municipality of Sighnaghi to resolve your problem. It is impossible to ignore this factor because helping the voters is a direct duty of each deputy. But if it does not help, then we will write about it on our Facebook page, which has more than half a million readers, and let him be ashamed of his inaction.

– I see that you are a believer, as there are many icons on the wall…

Tamta: I am a member of the local Church. I pray all the time. I ask the Lord for happiness for my children, so that they do not starve, so that they have a roof over their heads and the opportunity to learn. When I go to bed I ask God only for one thing, to help me feed my children.

– There are people who say that "one should not give birth to children when there are no means for their bringing up. How do you feel about this statement?

Tamta: I believe that every normal person, especially an orthodox, should strive to continue his or her kind. A family means mutual love, help and support. When I was pregnant with the fourth child, I wanted to have an abortion, and the priest told me: "Look at your three children. Can you kill them? No, you cannot. That's why I have to give birth to the fourth child. It is the will of God."

– What is your most cherished dream?

Tamta: My husband and I dreamed of having a big family, having children, raising them happily. We met at a country club during a movie show. We fell in love and could not to imagine life without each other. 15 years have passed since then… Of course, I still dream about the happiness of my children, but at this stage – my dream comes down to only one: how to survive these difficult times. I believe that the Lord will not leave us!

 – Let me talk to the kids now. 

     – Nika, what is your grade and what is your favorite subject? 

    Nika (13 years old): I'm in the 8th grade. I love geography.

    – What is your dream? I dream of having a bicycle and geography books! At home we have almost no books, and I love to read. 

     – Do you help your mother? 

     Nika: Sure I do. I look after my little sister, chop wood, clean the room…

     – Dmitriy, what grade do you study at and what do you dream about? 

     Dmitriy(9 years old): I'm in the fourth grade and dream to have a piano. I love music, but at school there is no music class…

     – Mariam, do you go to kindergarten? What is your dream?

    Mariam (6 years old): Yes, I go to kindergarten....I dream about a beautiful dress and toys...my Mother says that there is no money to buy new clothes…
