Our Georgia is a country of the kindest and most empathic people! You, our true friends, have proved that thousands of times! You have made a lot of miserable and disadvantaged families feel happy by giving the children miracles and making their parents believe in a better future once more!

The Khazhomia family, who was lost in this life, does not make an exception - you give them your love and your care too.

Four angels of the Lord - 10-year-old Natia, 7-year-old Gogita and 2-year-old twins Mate and Dachi by a whim of fate and due to the indifference of the authorities had to live in the ruins of a public toilet. Their desperate parents are doing their best to give a bit of coziness to this cold cement building, but they don’t succeed much, they are trying to make their children feel happy buying them extra loaves of bread or bringing home some old toys found at the dump.

But a year ago their life changed as if by magic. The true friends of our Fund learned about the Khazhomia family and the magic started.

Having approached the entrance to the house of the Khazhomiya family, littered with heaps of construction debris, the first person we saw was 7-year-old Gogita sitting in a wheelchair and watching with delight his sister Natia (10-year-old) roller skating. When the girl noticed us she asked us to stop. “Please, don't enter for a while, look what I've learned,” - the girl begged us, and fearlessly rode in front of us on her roller skates.- It’s lady Keti’s present,” - Natia shouted from afar losing interest in us.

Tamara, the children’s mother, was welcoming us at the doorstep.

- Please, come in! I have so many things to tell you! You can’t even imagine!

I understood the meaning of the phrase “I awoke one morning to find myself famous” after you had published an article about our family. We went to bed as ordinary people, but the next day whole Georgia new about us! God, a different life began! Phone calls, people bringing presents! The phone does not stop even now, though a year has passed after your publication. They’ve brought us so many presents!

-Tamara, what did you remember the most? Who particularly do you want to mention among your new friends?

-  Each call, each guest was the most important, most valuable for us! Believe me, it is true! Maybe I don’t remember all the names, but all of them are in my heart and in my thoughts, all the time. My children will never forget those blessed people.

In particular, I want to mention the present that has changed the life of my son Gogita. The wheelchair those kind people brought him. At New Year Eve of 2020, some young people came to us and brought this invaluable gift. It was so surprising, so exiting that I just forgot to ask them their names – I was so happy. I remember that one of them was a sportsman.

My Gogita suffers epilepsy, he can’t walk and talk at all. And now, thanks to the wheelchair, we take him to the yard to get some fresh air. He was deprived of it before, only if someone took him outside holding him in their arms for half-an-hour or so.

I also want to mention a young girl named Keti, who brought rollers to Natia, as she has already told you. It was not the only Keti’s gift. She also brought us lots of food, a table and chairs.  

People still keep calling us, asking how to find us and what to bring. They don’t forget about us. Thanks to your Fund, people have learned about our grief.

  - Tamara, what does this support and help mean to you?

-  I couldn’t even imagine that there are so many kind and empathic people. They brought my children lots of joys! The babies, Mate and Dachi, are too little to realize what has happened in our life, Gogita due to his illness is unable to realize either, but Natia is crazy about the presents we’ve got!

And the New Year celebration! We had never had so much food at our holiday table before. The children had real New Year gifts under the Christmas Tree.

  Do you know what the most important thing was? We started to hope and believe in kindness. Our life was so hard, we were absolutely desperate, we thought there was nothing around - just we and our misery... But everything changed in a second: unknown people take our problems close to heart, they care about us, think about us and remember about us. Only for the authorities we still do not exist.

- None of the local authorities remembered about you or asked you about your condition?

 - No one - God will judge them... The most important is that we know we are not alone, we have Chernovetskyi Fund and our true new friends.

- Tamara, maybe you have some more issues that our readers can help you with?

Suddenly pain and sadness reflected on Tamara's face.

  - We do have problems, but you cannot help us with that. I just want to share our pain. I know, that you will take it as if it were yours. Natia (10-year-old) started to have health problems. Several month ago she started having bouts of aggression, sometimes she laughs without reason, falling into a stupor afterwards. She was examined at a neurologist and psychologist and we found out she has developmental delay and behavioral disorder... Natia was registered in a psychiatric center.

- Do you need any help with Natia’s treatment?

- No, thank you. They give us medications in the center. But just for Natia’s sake, please give her a telephone! The girl dreams about it! And it will be very useful during the corona virus. If there is distance learning, she will be able to attend on-line lessons by phone.

- Does this problem prevent Natia from studying?

- No, it does not. She goes to the fifth form of a regular school, but she studies by an individual program.

- Tamara, I am sure our readers will take your request close to heart.

- We still owe them ... They have done lots of things for us and our children. I just feel awkward to look into your eyes. I feel embarrassed asking you for more.

Believe me, friends, despite all your good deeds for the Khazhomia family, their troubles have not finished yet. The family still needs food, clothes and hygienic items for the kids. The meager allowance which those poor people get is not enough to provide nutritious and healthy food for Mate and Dachi, the babies, for Gogita, who suffers epilepsy, and for Natia, the little beauty. Let’s show again our love of neighbors and make Natia’s dream - having her own phone - come true.
