Ha-ha, - the beauty laughs!

I have a beautiful eye now!

Little Angela is jumping up and down with joy. - You are the best people in the world, all the friends of the Fund!– the 7-year-old sweetheart is chartering non-stop and pulling me into the house. Ma’am, look at my eye! Do you like it? I am beautiful now, aren’t I?

- Look, this phone is a gift from the Fund too! It’s so cool! I have dreamed so much of it! - Angela, a little Georgian beauty, gasps in delight.

This angel is happy now, thanks to your mercy and generosity, dear friends of the Fund!

Quite recently in our article “Mom, what if I don’t wake up ...?” we told you a heartbreaking story about 7-year-old Angela Chikashua. https://chernovetskyifund.ge/en/projects/582-chikashua/

Little Angela and her mother were so much afraid of the fourth operation and fourth anesthesia, that seeing doctors the little girl kept crying and hiding away.

But today, just look - great is the Lord!- the operation was successful, and the throes of little Angela and her mother have been left behind. Angela looks into the mirror with joy in a hope for a better future, because she knows, that we are with her, all her friends and whole Georgia!

- Margarita, tell me, how has your life changed after we published an article about you and your daughter?

Margarita: You know, I had almost no hope that anybody would pay attention to us, my little daughter suffered so much... (cries) It’s horrible to remember. Suddenly a miracle happened and God brought you to our place!

My daughter needed an urgent prosthetic eye surgery, it was supposed to be done in Turkey, but suddenly this corona virus came.

You can’t imagine what it means to a single mother, who used to knock on all doors and beg for help, do an impossible thing for the sake of her only daughter!

The authorities refused to provide us with any aid, and we reached the limit of our resources. I had no idea where to go and what to do. But you have performed a miracle for us! A real miracle! I have no words to express how grateful I am. I have not expected such a response, especially nowadays, when mankind is doing its best to survive, and everybody experiences hardship.

Thanks to the Fund, we found out that they successfully perform such operations in Georgia. It took us one day to come from Batumi to Tbilisi, visit the doctors, make the appointment for the operation and come back home. You made all the arrangements, paid for the consultation with the best doctors, for the operation itself, prosthesis, and even for our transportation home! Oh, my God! How can I thank you?! I will pray for you, dear friends of the Fund!

- What about the operation? Was everything okay? How does Angela feel now?

Margarita: We were so much worried, because it was her fourth operation and fourth anesthesia. And my sweetheart is only 7. With the help of God and your support we coped with that! I want to thank everybody who took our problem close to heart at this hard time, who might have sacrificed their last crumb for the sake of my daughter! God bless you and your children!

As for Angela, Lord, she worried so much and was so much afraid! She was afraid of the operation; besides she was afraid that they would not manage to make the prosthesis on time, and she would have to go to school (sobs) without one eye. But thank God, everything is okay now, the implant was not rejected by her body, and she is happy! You won’t believe, she spends all her time in front of the mirror, and can't stop looking at her beautiful new eye!

She forgot all her troubles when your employee gave her a gift on behalf of the Fund - a mobile phone! Angela was so happy! This was her cherished dream, and you made it come true! It was a complete surprise for us, now my daughter has the phone always in her hands, making selfies, shooting flowers. This gift made her forget all the nightmares we have come through!

-We are so happy to hear this, Margarita! What do you remember most? Maybe someone, who called you or visited you to support?

Margarita: They called us several times to express sympathy and willingness to help. Military guys came and brought us 265 GEL, begging pardon for such a small amount! But every penny counts for us! We were so happy! Unfortunately, I don’t remember all the names, but one of them was Giorgi for sure. He even took a photo with Angela. She was so happy, attention and warmness are extremely important to her!

My daughter’s classmates also read the post, and they gathered quite a significant amount for us - 275 GEL! We are so grateful to them!

I want to say special thanks to the doctors, Eliso and Nino, I appreciate their attitude so much! Angela used to burst into tears seeing doctors before, but she loves them as if they were our family.

- Did local authorities somehow react to our post? Did they ask you about your situation or help you with anything?

Margarita: Tornike Rizhvadze, the Chairman of the Government of Adjara always supported us. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart! In the current situation, unfortunately, the authorities were unable to help us with the operation for Angela. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, for the Mayor's Offices of Tbilisi and Batumi, as well as the Ministry of Health, used to help me very many times...

- Margarita, tell me please about your emotions. What do the support and assistance mean to you?

Margarita: I have no words to express how this support was important to me. Thanks to your article, our compatriots knew that my Angela needed help, and they all together stood by us.

Angela worried so much and was so distressed about her eye. Me too. Because child’s tears are like a knife stabbed into mother’s heart. But everything has changed now. My daughter and I are happy - it’s all thanks to you and the friends of the Fund!

Angela (7-year-old): Mommy, may I say a word?

- Sure, Angela, I was right about to talk to you!

Angela (7-year-old): Ma’am, I want to say many thanks to all, for such a beautiful eye now!I am a pretty girl, aren’t I? Look how many photos I have! Do you like my new phone?

- Sure, you are very welcome! Do you like it?

Angela (7-year-old): Of course! It used to be my biggest dream! I know, it was a present from you! I show it to everybody and tell them it’s a present from the Fund!

- What a smart girl! Are you happy now, Angela?

Angela (7-year-old): Yes! I am so happy! I don’t feel shy anymore, and no one stares at my eye anymore! It was so embarrassing when everyone stared and whispered about you. And the phone is a super gift! It was such a big surprise! You have made my dream come true! Thank you so much!

- What else are you dreaming about?

Angela (7-year-old): I have only one dream, to have my own room and my own bed! I have no other dreams! It is so scary here, once a mice bit me, and not long ago I saw a monster here, mom said it was a scorpion.

- Margarita, maybe you have some other issues that our readers can help you with?

Margarita: You have made the dreams of my daughter come true, and it means that you’ve also made my dreams come true! How can I ask you for anything else? The only thing I can do is to say thanks to all the friends of the Fund, who did not pass by our troubles.

There is just one problem, but I am not sure to whom I might address it. I keep knocking on all doors seeking for help with housing. Would it be just a tiny place! Because we live in a rented apartment, and the conditions here are just terrible. Angela really saw a scorpion near her bed a few days ago, she even took a shot of this awful creature. It could have stung her!

I will cope with the rest by myself - Angela is big enough now, so I will definitely start working.

I want to assure you that we will never forget what you did for us! God bless your Fund! God bless all the friends of the Fund! I am so grateful to you!
