This family needs clothes the most. Clothe them, and your soul will be enveloped with God's blessings!

If it is true, please ask your friends and the friends of the Fund to pray together with me and my mommy, - beautiful Nino, the eldest daughter in the Lagvilava family looks at me with her piercing eyes. - Then dear God will hear us for sure!  Won’t He? - she looks at me with a plea in her huge beautiful Georgian eyes full of tears.

Will you also pray for us, won’t you forget?

Correspondent: I will not forget, my dear! Tell me, what else we can all pray for.

For my little brother and sisters so that they would never cry of hunger. But the most important! Don’t forget! Won’t you? For my little 6-year-old sister Barbara to start speaking and for a baby in mom’s tommy to be born healthy. It will be a boy for sure! There are so many girls in our family! This is most, most important! Tell everybody! - Then she thought a little and added ...- And we will all pray for your friends. We are many! And she crossed herself as an adult.

Friends, it is impossible to hold back tears, looking into the clear eyes of 11-year-old Nino Lagvilava. She is the eldest sister of Mzekala (11-month-old), Lile (2-year-old), Buka (4-year-old), Barbare (6-year-old), Lizi (7-year-old) and Anastasia (10-year-old). At her very young age she has adult’s thoughts. “Is there enough food for all? Will mommy cry again tonight because we are hungry? Is the baby in mom’s tommy hungry too?” Nino asks God for only one thing - so that all the children of the world never knew poverty, which her family has to endure!

How to save the life of the baby who already moves in Mariam’s tommy, mother of 7 children? How is it possible not to lose hope if their means are barely enough for a modest meal? Those questions worry the parents of a big Georgian family - 40-year-old David Lagvilava and 32-year-old Mariam Arabuli.

Mariam: - Georgia! - Here live the kindest and the most compassionate people! Please! My 6-year-old Barabara has a developmental delay, she cannot talk because of tongue-tie.She can't pronounce a single word properly! Kids of her age already chat carefree with their peers, recite poems and sing. Babi can’t. She tries to but with no success, which makes her cry.

Has Barbara been sick since birth?

Mariam: - Yes, my daughter was born with this problem. The signs of developmental delay due to slurred speech began to show just now. My poor Babi. She is a very sociable and warm child, but no one is able to understand what she is trying to say.

How can we help you, Mariam?

Mariam: Only professional speech therapist can save Barbare! They can help her by means of massage and special exercises. The treatment course with a good speech therapist costs 500 GEL The state covers only 50% of costs, the rest is paid by the family, but our family has no such a money.

Correspondent to the crying mother: - Please, don’t cry. Children ... Of course we will help you as much as we can! Joy will come to your life too! You should not get upset. You need to have a healthy baby! Let it be a boy, as Nino wants.

 - Okay, Mariam (mother) calms down a little. Let me show you in what terrible conditions we live. Children eat sitting on the floor. The food we buy is barely enough for us. We eat pasta and water-based soups. The little ones need vitamins, meat, dairy products to make bones stronger. My babies have no beds. We sleep on hand-made beds made of old mattresses and little Mzekala sleeps in a stroller. She sleeps there and eats there too.

- Where do you find money for your daily bread?

Mariam: - We are a socially disadvantaged family and we live on the social allowance, sometimes my husband gets some pennies for a side work. These money is barely enough for food, but the babies also need diapers and baby-food. I'm not talking about clothes, school supplies and shoes for the children. Thank God they are not picky, they wear each other’s hand-me-downs and share the last piece of bread among themselves.

- What about your husband? Does he work?

Mariam: - David is a refugee from Abkhazia, he did not manage to get proper education in due time, therefore he earns only by hard physical labor. It’s difficult in our country to find a high-paid permanent job. He works occasionally as a loader or laborer at construction sites. You know very well how much they pay for such work. And we have 7 children, those side-jobs are not enough for such a large family as ours. I cannot work because of the babies. I have nobody to leave them with. The elder can take care of themselves. Nino, her mother’s joy, always controls Anastasia and checks her homework. But the little ones require permanent attention. Who will take them to school? Who will look after them so that they do not play naughty? When my husband is at home, he often helps me with the kids, and when I am alone, I am as busy as a bee.

Don’t think I am complaining. It’s a great sin! When we got married I lost my first baby because of miscarriage. After that I was not able to get pregnant. The doctors said I was infertile, that I would never have children. I prayed to God for the baby and vowed that I would never have an abortion ... Only God could give me the happiness of motherhood. As you see, I keep my promise. These children are my joy and the apple of my eye! My life without them is nothing, and I am nothing without them.

How did your family start? How did you meet your husband?

Mariam: - I went to college, I wanted to become a lawyer and do justice. David worked at a car wash near the college. We met and my life changed. I fell in love for the first time, these feelings were mutual. After six months we got married. We lived together with my mother for a long time, in her one-room apartment. In 2015, they gave my husband as a refugee a 3-room apartment on the outskirts of the city. It was a salvation for us! Although the apartment has to be renovated, we are still very happy to have a roof over the head. You need to be grateful to God for what you have ...

Do your relatives help you?

Mariam: - All my husband’s relatives are refugees, they live in rented apartments and can barely make ends meet. He can’t ask them for help. I have only mom, my father had left us before I was born. He left my pregnant mother and never appeared in my life! My poor mommy raised me alone, she worked day and night sometimes in a bakery, sometimes at a knitting factory. There she developed asthma. Over the years, asthma has become severe and now mommy is taking expensive medications so as not to suffocate. My heart breaks with pain when I hear by phone how heavily she is breathing. I can’t ask her for help.

How did you see your future when you were young?

Mariam: - Actually, I never dreamed about anything unrealistic. I wanted to graduate from the college and then from the University, to become a good professional. Seeing how my mother was suffering, I was in no hurry to start a family. But God sent me David, the man who gave me true wealth - our children! My husband and me are doing our best to provide our little angels with everything, but the children need so many things. God sends them to us from heaven, and our goal is to make them good people. I do my best. I try to teach them to be proud of being Georgian! I have only one son Buka, he is 4 now. I try to instill in him all the values that a real Georgian man must have!

What do you believe in? Where do you see the salvation?

Mariam: - As a real Georgian woman I only believe in the power of the Lord. Only He can do everything! I often go to church and light candles for my husband and children. I feel how God protects us. I was born on a big holiday - Mariamoba, and that's why they named me Mariam.

And I named my first daughter in honor of the Christian enlightener of Georgia - Saint Nino. She is my special girl, very sensitive and kind. She can give all she has to her sisters and brothers! I am sure that God sees her selflessness and will help her in everything.

- Do you believe in the kindness of strangers?

Mariam: - Yes, of course! How else can we live? When I was able to help, I always helped those in need with food. Now I am in need and others help me. My neighbor Maka Tsakhokia is also a refugee who has two children. Maka often brings us clothes, sometimes she treats us with something, although she herself is in a difficult financial situation.

How did you find our Fund?

Mariam: - Once, by chance, I saw your car distributing food. By the way, many times I’ve bags with food from you. I learned about the Fund quite a long time ago, but I did not dare to write to you. There are so many people in need besides our family. I waited until it became unbearable. Actually, I did not expect you to respond, but the miracle happened! I hope that when people learn our story they will not leave my babies and will help us.

Learning your story, Mariam, whole Georgia will be eager to look into the eyes of such a perfect mother! Are you ready to meet the friends of the Fund?

Mariam: - With big pleasure! - Doors of our home are always open to the friends of the Fund! My children are so sociable! Come, call. We are waiting for you!

Have you got a dream?

Mariam: - You might be surprised, but we had no wedding at church. We only managed to register our marriage. We had no money to buy wedding rings, so we left it as it was. But I hope we will manage to fix it soon, because we are eager to have a Christian wedding.

Tell me more about your kids, what kind of children are they?

Mariam: - They are the best! Lucid children! I will now begin to praise them, because I just love them incredibly! Please, ask themselves! I am sure they will tell you everything!

With pleasure! Let’s start with Nino. What do you like doing?

Nino (11-year-old): - I like playing with my sisters and brother. Mommy often leaves Lile with me while she is busy with Mzekala. I teach her speaking and counting. She is not very good at pronouncing words yet, but I will teach her for sure!

I often play with Mzekala too, but she is too little and often cries.

Have you got a dream?

Nino (11-year-old): - I want to become a teacher of Georgian dances! I love the dance acharuli. When my sister Lile grows up a little, I’ll teach her too.

How do you study at school?

Nino (11-year-old): - Okay. I would study better if I had a computer at home. They give us homework by the Internet, when the task is to search and make notes. Now I have to go to my friends’, who have computers. Hope we will also have it one day.

I love history of Georgia, and we often have to find things on the Internet. You know, if I fail with dancing, I will become a teacher of the history of Georgia.

Why should you fail?

Nino (11-year-old): Because you have to attend dancing classes, go to the tours, make costumes. It is very expensive, - Nino put her beautiful eyes down and got sad.

Don’t be upset, dear, you still have everything ahead!

Anastasia (10-year-old): - Ma’am, I want to become a professional acrobat! - Anastasia, Nino’s younger sister interrupts our conversation.

Really? Why?

Anastasia (10-year-old): - I like it when girls jump high and do tricks in the air. I want to learn this too and go to competitions to represent my country. I would show what Georgia can do at the Olympic Games!

Can you do that too?

Anastasia (10-year-old): - Not yet, but I want to learn it! I also dream of a phone. All my friends have one, but I don’t.

Lizi, what are you dreaming about?

Lizi (7-year-old): - About a Barbie doll, of course! I want to have many-many toys! And sweets!

You don’t have toys?

Lizi (7-year-old): - I have only one, I want more! I want a Barbie house too! My sister Barbare can’t talk well, so I would ask you a toy for her.

You will have toys and everything! And what does Mister Buka want most of all?

Buka (4-year old): - A pistol! To defend my sisters and mother! Will you give me one?

A real man! He is so little, but he thinks about protecting his sisters. A smart boy!

Mariam, how can the friends of the Fund help you?

Mariam: - If you only knew how awkward I feel asking you for help but I have no other way. Please help me to pay to a speech therapist for Barbare. She can hardly say slurred phrases, and if I do not take her to a speech therapist, her development will stop. One-month speech therapy course fee is 500 GEL! We have no such money. Actually, we need everything: food, baby-formula “Winnie”, diapers for babies.

We have no appliances at all. If anybody has an old fridge, we would be happy to take it.The children also dream of a computer and phones. As a matter of fact, they even see sweets in their dreams. They have no proper place to sleep, we badly need beds, otherwise their spines can be deformed. We sleep on torn mattresses.

---

Friends. The big Lagvilava family live in extreme poverty. Mariam, the pregnant mother of the seven children asks all kind people for help. The family critically needs food, appliances and furniture. 11-month-old Mzekala needs baby-formula “Winnie” and diapers. 7-Year-old Barbare cannot start talking without the help of a speech therapist. The cost of a speech therapy course is unbearable for the large family who lives on a modest social allowance. Poor Mariam has no idea where to seek for help.

God directed Mariam and her babies to us, to prove that the children deserve a better life. Let’s show them mercy and give the children a chance to have a happy childhood.

God gives us chances to care about people who are unable to take care of themselves. Not all people are the same. Not all of them are as kind as we are. Do not pass by someone else's trouble! Those poor people are sent to us by heaven so that we could prove not by words, but in deeds that we trust in God!
