Thanks to you a miracle happened to us!

   "Is that possible? Do we also deserve love and care? For the first time in many years of hurt and disappointment, my children and I felt that someone worries about us... Complete strangers gave me what my blood relatives could not give me.” - the young mother Nino Gabidauri, could not hold back her tears.

This story about a woman with three children in her arms, abandoned by everyone, a sad and dreary story, which we have recently shared with you,(https://chernovetskyifund.ge/en/projects/657-gabidauri/)would have remained sad if not for the timely help of caring people who saved young children from hunger!

“They saved us from hunger, poverty, daily hardship and loneliness! - Nino continues, - You know, we used to survive as best as we could, it’s okay with me, but my poor children! If not for you, I don't know what would have happened to us..."

- Nino, very little time has passed since the publication of your story. Could you please tell me how your life has changed since that day?

Nino: It’s true, only a few months have passed since the publication of the post about us, but the life of our family has already changed a lot! The most important thing for me, is that my children are not hungry anymore, they eat their fill, they are happy... They even put on some weight, their cheeks became rosy! Look around - our humble dwelling has become much more comfortable! Now we do not freeze anymore, we have a heater, and in the new refrigerator we store the yummies that the friends of the Fund brought to the children! Meet my main home helper - a washing machine - thanks to it I save time, our clothes are clean, and they dry quickly! I can’t express in words how happy I am, I could not even dream that in such a short time the conditions of our life would improve so much! I am so grateful to all of you! 

  - Nino, we are happy that we managed to help you. Could you please tell, what you remember the most? Maybe you remember the names of those who lent you a helping hand?

  Nino: Since the day our story was published, my phone keeps ringing. Complete strangers are asking what exactly we need, how they can help us... They bring toys to children, food, clothing, household chemicals. I would like to tell you about everyone who showed mercy and compassion to my children, these are dozens of kind people. People, who I remember the most are the students - Keti, Anano and Giorgi. They still seem to be a children, but they are so responsible! They came to us and brought us a lot of food, sweets, medications! The military Revaz, Kakha and their friends also came to visit us. They brought us clothes, foodstuffs... My children have not eaten meat, fish, honey for so long... We have completely forgotten these tastes. Everyone helped in any way they could: someone brought diapers for my baby, someone - sunflower oil... I am very grateful to everyone! It is difficult to convey in words how much you helped me!

  - Nino, was there any response from the local authorities?

  Nino: There was no response from them...

  - Did you expect such support from the friends of the Fund? Tell me about your emotions.

  Nino: I have always believed in the kindness of people, I have believed that in Georgia a neighbor can save you from starving to death - and this has happened in my life so many times! But I couldn’t have thought that complete strangers would send me money, buy toys for my children and bring us big bags full of food. I could not even dream about it, especially in that difficult times of crisis, when everyone survives as best as they can... I probably would have never, in my entire life, earned enough money to buy a heater, refrigerator, and washing machine! My children and I were so much surprised by such attention and care!

  - Nino, you talk so emotionally about the Fund's help. What does it mean to you?

  Nino: When it comes to my children, how can I be calm? They starved for days, can you imagine? Only the mother who has gone through this pain and despair, this vile feeling of hopelessness, when you don’t know whether you will have at least some bread to feed your children tomorrow, will understand me! Your help was a salvation, a sign that miracles can happen and that they can happen to us too. God heard my prayer, and now we are not alone - you are with us!

  - Nino, thank you for your kind words. Could I please talk to Rosalinda? Sweetheart, tell me about the presents you got.

  Rosalinda (7-year-old): The coolest gift is a doctor's kit, there are many different devices for examining a patient! Now we play in the evenings - I treat my mom and Khatuna. It's so fun! Have you seen our washing machine? Mom washed my toys in it, they are so clean now!

  - Great, did you eat a lot of sweets?

  Rosalinda (7-year-old): Yes! Mom says that I can't eat so much sweets, but I haven't eaten chocolate for so long... And they gave me beautiful clothes, I will be so fashionable when I go to school! 

  - We are very happy that you liked the presents! Khatuna, which present do you remember the most?

  Khatuna (13-year-old): I never believed in Santa either before, or now - I’ve grown up now and I know everything... But you know, I realized that any kind person can become a real Santa! They can make any of your dreams come true! We got many gifts, and I am really grateful for everything.

  - You are a very good girl, Khatuna, you should know that the most incredible miracles are still waiting for you! Nino, let us continue our conversation. Are there any problems left that we could help you to solve?

  Nino: Unfortunately, we still have many problems. Khatuna is embarrassed to talk about this, but we have no computer, no phone, no internet to connect to online lessons... I feel embarrassed to ask you because you have already done the impossible. But I really do not want to deprive her of an education and a chance for a better life. She misses the lessons now. We also dream about a TV set. I just imagine how all four of us will lie embracing each other in the evenings and watch comedies, forgetting about the difficulties of life, and just enjoying that we are next to each other!  Well, the most painful issue is that every month I need to pay for the apartment and utilities. And at the end of each month, it seems, that the earth disappears from under my feet when I have to make a choice between paying electricity bills or buying food for the children. I wouldn't wish this pain on any mother. I beg you, please don’t leave us!

  Dear friends, the Gabidauri family is in dire need, their life is very hard. An unfortunate single mother does her best to save her children from starving to death! Once we all managed to unite to help them. I believe that we will manage to support our compatriots again! They will be happy to get any help, but the most important thing is to support them financially, to give the child a phone or laptop and help the family to install the Internet so that the children can learn and develop! Together we can do the impossible!
