I told you that my dad will do everything for me, even from heaven!

Little Tea still believes that her dad sends her sweets and yummies through the kind people. She does not know how he manages to do that, but she knows he is special. Her mother always told her that even after death her father will take care of his wonderful daughter even from heaven... And little Tea believed in this miracle so much that it happened! Now she has everything she dreamed of - a warm bed, and a fluffy blanket, and a beautiful dress and all kinds of delicious food... One should believe in a miracle, because if you really want something with all your heart, it will certainly come true!

- Lia, just a little time has passed since we published a story about you. Did your life somehow change since that day?

Lia: You know, it hurts me to recall that time, although it was quite recently, but I want to soon forget the bad things, hunger, dire need... When I addresses you, we were living from hand to mouth, there was not enough money even for basic things, my daughter was undernourished, I had to refuse her everything... I forgot about myself when my husband died, but it was a shame that I was unable to give my child what she needed. Recently, I was especially anxious because of the cold weather, we could not get warm, I was afraid that the child would get sick, and I even had no money to buy bread, let alone taking her to a doctor... And when it seemed to me there is no hope, you came... Now we have a bed, new linen, warm blankets, tables, clothes... And my fridge is not empty for the first time! Is not it a miracle? Our mood has completely changed - for the first time since my husband died, my daughter and I started to gradually come to our senses, we are learning again to enjoy the little things...  It is your merit!

- Lia, we are happy that we managed to help you. What did you remember the most? Do you remember the names of those who lent a helping hand to you?

Lia:Is it possible to forget those who saved your only child from starving to death? Complete strangers called to give me support...  Some sent clothes to us, others brought us foodstuffs. One family came to visit us, and they brought us three bags of firewood, khinkali, lobio, butter, canned food... Tbilisi Tennis Federation sent us 300 GEL... I know that some people were transferring even one lari for us to the Fund’s account, but as the result with the funds raised, we managed to buy so many things! Everyone helped as much as they could, so I am immensely grateful to everyone!

- Lia, did the local authorities react in any manner?

Lia: Unfortunately, there was no reaction from their side.

- Lia, have you expected to get such a support from the friends of the Fund? Tell me about your emotions.

Lia:I am embarrassed to admit, that I haven’t expected to get so much help. I certainly believe in empathy of people, and I have heard a lot of stories about the help you provide to those in need. I was not sure that they would help me so much, because many people need support now - it’s a hard time because of a pandemic and a crisis ... Nobody has extra money. But it turned to be that it is not about an extra money - an empathetic person will share his last with those in need. I always tell my daughter to never pass by someone else's misfortune, they helped you now, and the time will come when you will save someone's life! It is difficult to describe my emotions, I am delighted with the nobility and generosity of our people! I have no words to express my gratitude!

- Lia, you are so emotional telling us about the help that the Fund has provided to you. What does it mean to you?

Lia: My husband’s death knocked me down, it took my inner strength, my child and I were left completely alone without any help and support, and this pandemic too... No hope, only despair and fear... You have to pay for rent, utilities, and there is a hungry child in your arms. What to do, how to be? All these questions and the feeling of hopelessness tormented me. I don't know what would have happened to us if not for you... When I felt such support, when I heard dozens of life-affirming stories, I realized that life goes on ... I have to live for my daughter’s sake, she needs a mother... With you a new stage of my life has begun, and I am grateful to you for giving me this chance...

- Lia, we are very glad that you have a new life! I’d like to talk to Tea. Tea, how are you doing? Do you like the presents that your new friends brought?

Tea (6-year-old): Very much! Now I sleep in a comfortable bed, I have beautiful linen, and most importantly, I do not freeze at night, because you gave us a warm blanket as well! I have a lot of clothes and I can change them. I go to school looking pretty every day! But most of all I am happy that my mom stopped crying... 

- Well done, Tea! Lia, let’s continue our conversation. Are there any problems left that we can help you to solve?

Lia: I am embarrassed to ask for anything else. I always get frustrated when I think that soon it is time to pay rent or utilities bills. My daughter and I will be grateful for any help - foodstuffs, clothing. We are in dire need so anything will be a huge present for us. Thanks to all caring people for the big hearts they have!
