REPOST, MY GOOD MAN! LET YOUR FRIENDS ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORK OF MERCY!

“Our bread is the tastiest. It is harder to bite it today, yesterday it was softer."

This is not a staged photo. We did not ask the children to sit on the floor and eat bread. When we came for the interview, two-year-old Mariam and eight-year-old Giorgi were sitting in the corner like mice, clutching a loaf with their fingers and nibbling it... Can you imagine that sometimes there is not enough money even for bread! We will simply keep silent about other foodstuffs. You can calculate yourself: social allowance is 320 GEL, and mother pays 170 GEL out of that for renting a room. The remaining 150 GEL should be enough for life! Will, it’s enough ... for their daily bread. And to refuel a small gas bottle. It is their gas stove, their heater, and even their bath.

I have nothing of my own except the children and this gas bottle. If it goes out of order, I'd never get over it! " - Shorena tried to joke, but these words wouldn't leave me in peace for several days. Children and a gas bottle - this is what a Georgian woman deserves for being a single mother in Georgia!

Shorena: Oh, it’s so embarrassing. They're just really hungry. There is no transport, so I cannot bring food from the canteen. It takes more than two hours to get there. They tried to get there walking, I carried Mariam in my arms and held Giorgi by the hand but could not get there. We got very tired. That’s why the only thing we can afford now is bread. I buy the cheapest one.

- What do you take in the canteen?

Shorena: Well, there, all kinds of soups, once a week they also give us meat. Sometimes they have sausages. My children are fond of sausages. Today I cooked the last pasta we had - it was about a handful. They come up and peck like birds.

It’s good that we have food for the entire day! At least something... Pasta is the royal food! You can break your teeth against stale bread!

Pasta is their favorite treat after bread

 - Shorena, how do you manage to survive?

Shorena: In no way... Sometimes it seems to me that I have already died. Imagine, I have nothing to sell to be sure that if something suddenly happens, then my children will have food. The only valuable thing in my house is a small gas bottle. I cook on it, and warm water for bathing, and sometimes we warm ourselves. When gas ends and there is no money to refuel it, then real hopelessness sets in... I count the days until the payday.

- Have you ever lived without fear of tomorrow?

Shorena: Probably when I was a child. It was all over after I gave birth to Giorgi, I remember my childhood well, but what will my children say? What will they remember? The toys that Mom brought them from the junkyard? Or the tattered clothes that make them constantly get bullied? They don’t know how to communicate with people - they are afraid of them.

  - What would you like to do for them?

Shorena: Gio's birthday was on September 8th. He turned eight years old. I wanted so much to somehow brighten up this day, but I did not manage to. I even thought about not telling him about his birthday that day. I cried, I imagined how we celebrate this day in the celebration center, how his favorite cartoon characters congratulate him. How they bring the cake, how he blows out the candles, and then runs up to me and says: "You are the best mom, thank you!" This is all I dream about.

  - When is Mariam’s birthday?

Shorena: She is a winter girl: she will turn three on January 30. Oh, I'll tell you one thing now, only you get it right. I don’t even know, maybe I don’t need to talk about it. I still feed Marie with breast milk when she is crying from hunger. I have no other way out.

(Shorena burst into tears ... And we kept silent for a long time. No words can ease that heartache of a mother who sees her starving children, the ones she loves more than life and for whose life she is responsible.)

- Shorena, I can only say one thing: You’ve done a great job by contacting the Chernovetskyi Fund. Now your life will change. Do you believe this?

Shorena: To be honest, I don't know what to believe in anymore. When the children’s father doesn't need his own children, how can I ask complete strangers to take a piece of bread from their children and give it to mine?! But I have no other choice. I am on my knees in front of everyone and I beg you - save my children!

  - What else do you need besides food?

Shorena: Diapers, clothes for children. But the first priority are foodstuffs.

  - Have you got any home appliances?

Shorena: I have a gas bottle.

  - Shorena, it does not belong to appliances! I'm asking about a washing machine, refrigerator, gas stove…

Shorena: I don't have a washing machine, I have a refrigerator, but it belongs to my landlord, and, frankly, I have nothing to put there. Let's go and I’ll show you! But why are you asking? Can you get me a washing machine?

Children open the refrigerator door a hundred times a day, hoping to find at least something in it.

- Shorena, the kindest people in Georgia read the posts of our Fund. They will also learn about your family. Do you think they will leave you to the mercy of fate? No!

Shorena: I have seen many happy faces on your Facebook page, but I don’t think I deserve such joy... God bless you!

Unfortunately, I did not manage to talk to the kids. They said only two words, and then through their mother. Mari whispered to her mother that she wanted a doll and toy kitchen set, and Giorgi wants a car. That’s it, at this point, all their childhood wishes have reached the limits.

Fear is what fills the life of mom, little Mari and Giorgi. She tries to surpass her capabilities... But alas, it doesn't always help. Where to get money? What to do? There is only one hope left - to ask people and hope for their help.

Friends, do not pass by this post and please help these unfortunate, hungry children. They need food, diapers, washing machine, gas stove and clothes. You can meet them personally. Their address is: Zages, st. 40 Niko Ketskhoveli.

Every time you can help someone, just do it and rejoice that God answers someone's prayers through you!

Let’s show our mercy and make the children believe that miracles happen! They believe in us. Do not let our little compatriots down. Show them what generous people live in Georgia!

We are sure that all together we will manage to change their life.
