  For two-year-old Ramaz, candy is the most wonderful creation on earth! Candy is like a mom and a sister! Those rare days when his mom can buy him one candy becomes a holiday for him. He cares for it as for the apple of his eye, and even kisses it.

  “Oh, what a funny child,” you would say and smile if you don’t know who it’s about. And what will your reaction be if I say that he ate sweets only a few times during his childhood? What if I tell you that sometimes tea is his only food? What if I say that he envies his sister the most because his mother is breastfeeding her? Will you again say that he is quirky, or will you be horrified?

“I can’t give my children even a piece of bread”

  When Zeinab got married she thought that the nightmare and poverty she lived in all her childhood was over. That together with her husband she will build a cozy home where she will raise her children with love. When her husband got drunk and pushed her for the first time, she swallowed that. “I probably provoked him. I shouldn't have told him - don't drink!" When he raised his hand on her for a second time, she found some explanation again. But when he beat her pregnant, she ran away. She realized that she was not born to be happy.

“I will not let anyone beat my children... I won't let myself be offended either. It’s better to starve than live with a monster."

- Tell us about the most difficult period of your life.

Zeinab: The most difficult time for me began after the birth of my children. I'm alone. Neither my parents nor my relatives can help me. I get allowance for my children - it is 150 GEL per month. What can they be enough for? I pay 90 GEL for rent. We cannot afford turning on the heating, we stay in the cold. Just leave alone food... I breastfeed my baby-girl. But where will I get milk if I don't eat myself?

"Baby Lile does not get enough breast milk, and she cries for hours... What kind of milk can a hungry woman have?”

  - So, I keep thinking, how is it possible for a nursing mother and two babies to live on 60 GEL per month? But I can’t come up with anything...

  Zeinab: Recently, my neighbors raised money and bought me food - potatoes, cereals... But I can't even cook them. When you have to pay more for electricity than your food is worth, it's just a nightmare. I cook on a small electric stove - I don't have a gas stove.

“Cooking lunch on an electric stove is simply impossible. Electricity costs more than all foodstuffs."

  - In your opinion, how much does your family need a month to live well?

  Zeinab: What do you mean - to have enough for food?

  - To have enough for food, clothes, toys, and sweets.

  Zeinab: Don’t say these words! Ramaz will cry if he hears. He cried so bitterly when he saw a toy car in a shop. Some woman - a total stranger - bought it and gave it to him. I don't even know her name. If she reads this interview, I want to convey to her a huge thank you. Well, this is more than thanks. She appeared as an Angel! And total strangers appear in our lives as Angels! How can I not believe in the Lord after that? You are His messengers too. Recently they gave Ramaz shoes. They were also strangers.

"Ramaz is deprived of all childish joys, so when he gets some gift, he embraces it and does not let it out of his hands."

  – In what do you see the salvation, Zeinab?

  Zeinab: I do not even know. If only my children were full and warm. I'm afraid to freeze. My kind neighbor said that if it is very cold, we can spend the night at her place. I don't even have warm blankets. We wrap ourselves in all warm clothes we have and warm ourselves like birds in a nest.

-  Zeinab, don’t be shy. Name everything that you need now. Make it easier for our benefactors to do good!

  Zeinab: I need nutritional baby formula for Lile - my breast milk is certainly not enough for her, and she can cry for hours. I don't know what a four-month-old baby can eat. I also need foodstuffs for Ramaz, diapers, gas stove and heater, refrigerator and a washing machine. I am not talking about TV, although this is my dream! If I could work, I would not stay idle for a single minute. When Lile grows up, I will take her to the kindergarten, and I will work as a cleaner, and as a loader, and I will sweep the streets... I won’t be embarrassed to take any job for the sake of my children.

Baby, you will have so many candies that you can eat them every day! We already told Santa about this
