"Hooray! Now we have a smart TV that always knows what we want to watch!”

“Mommy, is our new TV smart? And what does it mean? Can it think?” – Saba happily asks Nino and brings the remote control. Mom explains to him that this TV is magical. It shows exactly the cartoons that the boys want to watch.

Friends of our Fund brightened up the life of another family, made two more wonderful kids happy. As five-year-old Saba told us, they didn’t have not only a smart, but even a stupid TV ...

“Well, give me more! It’s delicious"

Nino Kavtuashvili and her two young sons live in one 20 square meters sized room. The family is socially disadvantaged. They have no income and, therefore, proper living conditions. Nino addressed our Fund for help. We published a post about them on February 8, 2022

"I will never forget this day!"

– Nino, how has your life changed after our Fund published a post about you on social networks?

Nino: For those who have not experienced such poverty (God forbid anyone to experience it), it will be hard to imagine what is happening in our hearts now. We fly with happiness - both me and my kids. Thanks to you, we got so many gifts, my dear people! You gave us very necessary things: a bed, a TV set, a table, chairs, food, hygiene products. But the most important gift is the feeling that we are not alone! There are so many people around us who will never let us die of hunger and helplessness! (Wipes away her tears.)

– What made you the most happy?

Nino: We really needed everything, especially the table and chairs. We have not dined like human beings for so long. Imagine how we had our meals without having a table and chairs - just standing on our feet. And this wonderful bed!

"Mommy, look, I'm taller than you!"

Saba: Dato and I really, really wanted to have a bunk bed. We wanted it so much! Now Dato is sick - he hurt his chin. He fell in the kindergarten. Where would he lie? His chin aches a lot! Would he lie on the floor? Look how sweetly he sleeps now.

- Nino, is it anything serious?

Nino: Nothing serious, but we cried a lot.

Saba: He's being naughty all the time. I tell him: “Don't be naughty!” But he doesn't listen to me.

- Aren't you being naughty?

Saba: I'm already an adult! I can't get sick. Mom has no money, and she won’t be able to buy medication for me.

– Saba, did you like all the gifts too?

Saba: I liked the TV. It is very smart, like me.

- How smart is it? Doesn’t it get sick either?

Saba: It is smart because it can think. It thinks, thinks, and then comes up with something. (Laughs.)

- Comes up with what?

Saba: With what cartoon we want to watch.

– Aren’t you and Datuna happy about sweets?Saba:

Saba: I completely forgot about it. We were so happy that we ate it all. We also enjoyed the food. I have to eat twice to grow big. I love salad.

“Now I will eat a lot of bananas and become so strong that I will even defeat a dragon.”

- What a salad?

Saba: Just any. I tell my mom all the time “Make it!” And she says that she has not these ... What are they called? I don't remember what she says...

– Ingredients?

Saba: Yes, ingredients.

“Which one eat first? Which one do I love more?

- Do you know what Dato liked? He's asleep, and I can't ask him.

Saba: Bed. He also liked that the dragon got sick, and Santa’s leg doesn’t hurt anymore.

- The dragon that didn't let you get your presents?

Saba: Yes.

- And what happened to Santa?

Saba: He couldn't bring us gifts for the New Year. Mom said he broke his leg. Now, apparently, his leg no longer hurts.

– Nino, have you made new friends? Who else helped you after the publication of the post?

Nino: A very nice older woman came and brought us food and homemade jams. My kids really liked the jam. It was very delicious. Thank her for being so warm. Another woman came with her two sons, they brought us fruits and children's clothes. Look at my boys. They are still wearing the clothes she brought.

“Let’s go up to the second floor and play there, okay?”

- Was there any respond from the local authorities?

Nino: Unfortunately, no. I have written applications many times. But no one has contacted me so far.

Friends, we gave this family one beautiful day, but their troubles did not end there. The family needs lots of things. They do not have a sink, a tap; the ceiling and walls need to be repaired. Children dream of delicious food, crayons, coloring books and new toys. I hope our good deeds did not end there, and we will still manage to support Nino and, as she herself says, we will not let her fall in the fight against hunger!
