REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Little Zaliko is writhing on the couch while his mom greets us. "Whoo!" - he cries in a plaintive voice. "He wants me to take him in my arms", - his mom says. “Whoo”, - the baby keeps whimpering. “This auntie came to see you - she wants to see what a handsome boy you are.” - “Whoo!” - Zaliko replies loudly, in his mother's arms. “Sure”, - his mom responds.

Three-year-old Zaliko can only make this sound, but his mother can understand everything he “says” to her.

Mom understands when Zaliko is thirsty, when he is sleepy, and when he wants to listen to a song. “Whoo!” - this is a joyful exclamation when Zaliko sees his brother, who will walk with him. “Whoo!” - is a bitter cry when something bothers him.

He is like that, he was born like that, and nothing can be done about it. His birth turned the measured and calm life of the Jalagonia family upside down. Up to eight months, no one noticed any developmental deviations, but when it turned out that the child was unable to hold his head, sit, take toys in his hand, his mother sounded the alarm.

- Inga, if it’s not very harsh for you, could you please tell me what you felt when you heard the diagnosis?

Inga: My blood sugar rose. I wanted to die I wouldn't wish that on any mom to hear: “Your child is sick, and his disease is incurable…” I was shocked. We were told that we could prevent worsening of his condition by massages and rehabilitation courses. God forbid, his muscles to become stiff. It can paralyze his entire body. We sold everything, the whole village helped us. And as the result - Zaliko is contact, he does not have convulsions. He understands everything, but he cannot do anything himself. We feed and give him to drink with a bottle.

- Probably, it is hard to take care of a sick child in such hard conditions.

What do you see on this photo? An old basin and a stove? No, this is the bathroom where they bathe sick Zaliko.

Inga: It is very hard. We don't even have a bathroom. I bathe the child in this basin. What else to do? I'll put it near the stove, heat well and bathe him. Every time I bathe him, I am afraid he can catch cold. He can't get sick. He has very weak lungs. We can’t repair anything - money is barely enough for food.

- How much do you get?

Inga: The allowance is 200 GEL and Zaliko's pension is 185 GEL. That's our entire income.

He is already three years old but he still eats and drinks from a bottle. He can’t do it otherwise. Poor baby…

- As far as I know, the disability pension is 250 GEL?

Inga: You are right. But three years ago, due to the exacerbation of my son's illness, we had to take a loan from a bank. Every month, the bank withholds 65 lari from our son's pension. And they will do that up to 2025! I know it seems to be a small amount at first glance. But every time I make calculations on how much it turns out, I get shocked. Is it possible to take so much money from such a sick child as my son? We did not take a loan for the sake of rest at the resort, but for treatment ...

“Does the bank have the right to rob this unfortunate child?”

- Calm down, Inga, don't cry...

Inga: My blood sugar rises when I start to worry, and I lose consciousness. Why should my child have a sick mother who cannot take her son in her arms? So, I try to hold on. It is so hard! You can't even imagine.

Iakob (15-year-old): Let's not disturb our mom. I'll tell you about Zaliko. (Addresses his brother.) Now I will take you in my arms and tell the auntie what a good boy you are!

“Good, come to me, my little one, and let mom have a rest”

- What a good man you are, Iacob! Do you often help your mother?

Iakob: I help my dad after school - he works physically all day. We earn money for Zaliko. When I come home, I babysit my brother. I love walking with him, telling him how the day went. He is so cute - he looks at me with his big eyes, flutters his eyelashes, as if he understands everything.

- Do you have time left for yourself?

Iakob: To do my homework? Or what are you asking about?

- Okay, let me ask you in a different way. What do you dream about, just for yourself?

Iakob: Well, probably, so that Zaliko could walk. And, only for myself ... I want a tablet for studying. But it would be better if Zaliko started walking. Nothing else. We all lived so well until my brother started having this problem. We were so happy when he was born. Both mom and dad were happy. And then everyone got sad. We don't even want to play with the guys. We go straight home after school. We either help dad or mom.

Everyone in the family switched to Zaliko's lifestyle so that he would be comfortable, that he would feel good

Inga: Mate and Jakob have no life of their own. They give all their strength and resources to the upbringing of their brother. They won't put a crumb in their mouth until they make sure that Zaliko is full.

– Inga, what can we do to make your life a little bit easier?

Inga: First of all, we need food, diapers for Zaliko, a TV to somehow distract our son. And we really need a wardrobe. That’s it. I don't know what else to say.

Iakob: If you can’t buy a tablet for me, it’s okay. It's better to buy something for my mother or Zaliko with this money.
