I want to communicate with other children like healthy children do.
Luka (12 years old): you know, I'm pensioner, like my grandparents. But it's a pity that I can't save my pension. I must go to hospital often and change this tube that's in my throat, do you see it? My entire pension is spent on this.
- Tell me about this tube, why do you have it?
A few years ago, I was hit by a car. Everyone thought that I would die, that I would not survive, but God and the doctors saved me. I could not wake up for 3 months, and then I could not speak. I'm like an ordinary boy now, just with a pipe.
- What would you like to buy with the saved money?
Luka (12 years old): I have one dream. I want a computer or a tablet. I want to make many friends and talk to them. I love to communicate. And I have friends at school. Is it a problem that I have this terrible tube in my throat? I am alive and well! But sometimes it hurts a lot.
- What dreams did you have while you had no tube in your throat and your house was “unburned”?
Luka: To be honest, I don't remember. It feels like I was born with that tube. It is very disturbing, I hope that someday I will get rid of it.
