If you want to curse a man, just tell him: "I wish your children were sick. And that's it - he'll be the most miserable person on the planet. "I don't know how I find the strength to live, how I manage not to go crazy.” I think God gives strength to mothers who have sick children. I have two sons and both are sick. Gabriel, 5, and Lasha-Giorgi, 18-month-old. Gabriel has cerebral palsy - he can't move or do anything on his own. Every month we lie in the hospital or in a rehabilitation center, and Lasha-Giorgi, a martyr, has been in an intensive care unit since birth, hooked up to machines. I haven't even taken him in my arms, haven't hugged him. He probably thinks he doesn't have a mother."

This family needs clothes the most. Clothe them, and your soul will be enveloped with God's blessings!

Dear friends, we did our best to help, but sadly, little Lasha passed away in the intensive care unit last night, joining God. Let's come together in prayer for his soul. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his mother Mariam and the entire family.
Rest in peace, Lasha-Giorgi. Let's join in prayer for the soul of Lasha-Giorgi

***

My dear, my good, my loved ones! You have connected me with my son!

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS TO GET CLOSER TO THE WORK OF MERCY!

Little Lasha-Giorgi is finally back home with his mom!

Lasha-Giorgi, dealing with "bone destruction," was pulled through only with the help of intensive care. Holding him, hugging him, and even bringing him home was once considered risky. For a year and a half, his mom, Mariam, could only see him in the hospital, traveling back and forth from Ozurgeti to Tbilisi.

Doctors weren't very optimistic about the future of his brother, Gabriel, who has cerebral leukomalacia—a condition that usually means difficulty walking, talking, or eating independently.

Incredibly, almost unbelievably, we have two fantastic updates! Mom Mariam has brought Lasha-Giorgi back home! It's been 5 months since he's been surrounded by his family, and nothing threatens his condition.  And Gabriel - just think - started first grade!

We are creating good news together with you, and thanks to you!

Gabriel has started walking little by little!  His mom supports him and can't believe this is happening

- Mariam, you have finally reunited with your son. What do you feel? What helped bring about such significant changes?

Mariam: Oh, what do I feel... How can a mother be far from her child? Here he is, my little one, my sunshine, my helpless chick. I inhale the scent of his skin, stroke his little hands and feet, look into his clever eyes. He's not at all the color of a sick child now, is he?  At home, with his mom, he's better, he sleeps peacefully, in bed with me.  And I've calmed down, my heart doesn't ache anymore.

It's thanks to you that he's home, thanks to good care that pulled him out of the hospital. We took him home on June 23. I swear by the lives of my two little angels, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been able to do anything. We met with you, and things started moving forward for my boy. You even pay attention to his nutrition – buying him special formulas – 'Similac' and 'Nutrilak anti-reflux.'  You regularly provide us with diapers and medications for a tidy sum. Tubes, catheters, syringes, bandages... You are giving so much for both of my boys. Both of them need sedatives. Lasha-Giorgi needs medications for gas relief, and Gabriel – anti-epileptic ones...

At first, I was afraid of how Lasha-Giorgi would handle the journey from Tbilisi to Ozurgeti. But the doctor said – travel with breaks, let him rest a little on the way.  My little one didn't feel anything, he slept peacefully the whole way. Now I've become so bold that I take him for a walk.  Even more, I take Lasha-Giorgi everywhere I go!

Lasha-Giorgi sleeps sweetly after a walk.

- Let me grasp... a child who lived in the intensive care unit for one and a half years.  What progress!

Mariam: Yes, yes, my dear ones!  You all made this happen! You gave him strength!  I learned to take care of my son.  Placing and removing the feeding tube. He's not gaining weight, and he's not growing taller. But his condition is stable, and he can be at home. I am happy, and I thank you and God for this!  I never dreamed of such a thing before.

Mariam learned to take care of her son herself and fearlessly performs all his special procedures.

- Alright, now it's Gabriel's turn.  How is he doing?

Mariam: Readers of the Fund have done a lot for him too. At the "Aversi" clinic, we underwent a series of examinations. MRI of the brain, a complete blood count, testing for vitamin D, and others, that one can only read from notes. We found out an important thing - Gabriel has epilepsy, and he can't do without medication. Before that, I wasn't sure what happened to him when a terrible seizure occurred once, and he blacked out for half an hour. Now we know, and we will control it.

Due to financial hardship, I did not pay attention to Gabriel's dental care.  It turned out that his gums were filled with pus!  God knows where this pus could have gone and poisoned the child if you hadn't helped with the surgery! I wouldn't have found three and a half thousand lari for it, for sure!   Gabriel was under anesthesia for 6 hours, and they cleaned up everything. We managed to save his teeth, and now he can chew without pain.

I have good news for you - Gabriel has started walking. He does his best. Here you also helped with good quality nutrition, and the state rehabilitation program. Since May, I've been using your food assistance, and I feed the child properly - vegetables, cereals, chicken, fish... In addition, some readers also helped us. From Batumi, they sent us groceries and diapers with a minibus driver. Attention and care are coming to us from everywhere.

Gabriel is happy that he can stand without assistance.

- Have you met anyone of our readers personally?

Mariam: I will meet someone very soon (smiles). When we go to Tbilisi with Gabriel to get orthoses, I'll meet Anna Kutateli (I hope I remember the last name correctly).  She has already helped us, and then we started talking and became friends on Facebook. Anna is waiting for us to visit, and she won't forgive me if I don't see her (smiles).

- What would you say to all our readers who supported you?

Mariam: I feel like I received all of you as a gift from the Lord! I am filled with happiness, warmth, and immense gratitude. You returned my son to me!  Lasha-Giorgi is with me, he is not alone in a distant hospital anymore. Every time I look at him, I bless you, I fervently pray for all of you to the saints. My Gabriel has started school!  I am now the happiest mother thanks to you. You are already close to me, each one of you is dear to me. How can I express my gratitude for this happiness?! My dear, my good, my family!

- Mariam, you can't imagine how happy we are for both kids! How is Gabriel adapting to school?  Does he have a good class?

Mariam: My boy looks so cute, neat in a white shirt with a black bow tie! And the new jeans suit him well. Thank you for taking care of dressing him, preparing him for school, providing a stylish bag, and all the accessories.  I didn't expect such a joyful day to come in our lives. Because since his birth, doctors warned us that he might not live long... Taking him to school together with my husband, we both had a lump in our throats - it was a very emotional moment for us...

Mariam: My husband and I took him to school together -  it was a very emotional moment”

Our Gabi is a handsome boy! The white shirt with a bow tie suits him.

Of course, he won't be able to read and write like other kids. But school is necessary for his development, so that Gabriel doesn't succumb to illness.

A huge weight has been lifted from my heart. His class is really wonderful. The children, parents, and teachers – all are very warm and kind. They treat Gabriel with love and tenderness, taking care of him like a little brother.  They hold his hand, call him to play.

Mariam: “My son’s class is really wonderful. They treat Gabriel with warmth and tenderness.”

- Mariam, have you sought help from the authorities? How does the state participate in your life?

Mariam: When they can, they provide assistance. I can't say that the authorities in Ozurgeti are inattentive. There were times when they provided us with groceries and diapers, with funds for the journey to Tbilisi. Once, they even gave money for a bed. But my children have such serious illnesses that they need constant care.

- What specific problems need to be addressed at the moment?

Mariam: We don't have a bathroom in our house. It's inconvenient even for a family with typical children, let alone a family with special needs kids. I bathe my sons in a basin. A proper bath would greatly ease the care for the children.

To support the lives of her children, Mariam needs constant help.  Lasha-Giorgi and Gabriel are alive solely thanks to medications and good care, which the family cannot provide on their own. Providing them with medications, diapers, special nutrition, tubes, and catheters means prolonging their lives. A huge thank you to you for your responsibility, for every saved life!

If you have a heavy heart because of everyday problems or unresolved issues, as a distraction just see our posts on Facebook, or better call any of our beneficiaries, and all your problems will seem unimportant to you, compared with the problems of those to whom you helped in the most difficult moment of their lives.
