The first thing we saw when entering the house is incredible poverty and abandonment. And then we saw her, an old woman, poor and sick, bedridden, but also unable to speak. At one time, she was probably very beautiful. But the eyes ... They betrayed all the pain and sadness accumulated over the whole life. And at the same time they looked at us with hope ...
The living conditions and physical condition of this 84-year-old woman will not leave anyone indifferent. Lady Vladimirovna Chachkhian lives in terrifying conditions in an emergency one-room apartment with crumbling walls and ceilings. And what is much worse than it is bedridden it is very difficult for her to talk.
Lady Chachkhiani is a disabled person of the second group; she is diagnosed with arterial hypotension and Parkinson's disease. For some time now she cannot move because of a fracture of the hip joint. Sometimes her nephew Lasha visits. To my great regret, he has no opportunity to help his aunt either financially or physically.
We visited Lady Vladimirovna and tried to talk. Basically, it was impossible to understand her speech and the nephew answered questions.
We asked to tell about the life of Lady Vladimirovna.
“She is from Tsageri,” said Lasha's nephew. “She was 2 years old when the Bolsheviks shot her father in 1937. She was brought up by her brother and my father alone. After leaving school, she arrived in Tbilisi and entered the history department. Since then, here and lives. Unfortunately, she was not able to arrange a personal life. She did not start a family, children. She gave herself all the work to us, our nephews. I remember how she came to our village in the summer. We have always felt her love and care. Now my aunt lives alone, and no one can help her in any way. I visit her, but I cannot give any help. The only one who really helps her is your Foundation.
-Who was the kindest person in your life, Lady Vladimirovna?
-According to her nephew, Lady Vladimirovna was treated by a doctor Eldar, who once sent her free medicines. This was an incredible gesture of kindness and attention for her. "I remember how she cried, apparently, from gratitude. In general, she is a very grateful person, she is pleased with the slightest attention shown to her. Fortunately, now she has you. You care about my aunt, for which I want to say thank you. Nurses and social workers of the Foundation come to her, thanks to whom she feels not entirely alone in this world. ”
What is the biggest problem in your life today is the biggest?
“Most of all, they need medications to stimulate the activation of the speech apparatus. We do not have the opportunity to purchase them,” answered his nephew.
What pleases you most?
-Medications- Lady Vladimir Vladimirovna answered with difficulty. This is the only thing that we could understand from her speech.
“Thanks to these special medicines, my aunt is feeling better and more active,” added Lasha.
-Do you believe in God?
“Of course, she believes,” answered her nephew and showed us the Bible and the icons of Lady Vladimirovna. “At one time she read the Bible, observed the fast and prayed.
-What are you asking the Almighty?
“Health,” Lasha told us about the woman’s response.
-What would you wish to our readers?
Here Lady Vladimirovna made great efforts so that her nephew could understand everything she wants to say. Here is what Lasha said:
-She asks people to be kinder and help those in need. The Lord sees and rewards everything.
- Do you remember your relatives and friends? Which of them do you remember the most and why?
“I often remember my classmates — my nephew translates to us.” And I miss you and want to see the boy Gog, who lived next door. I loved him very much and raised him like my own son. Unfortunately, since he went to live in Prague, I have not heard anything about him.
Nephew says that in general, since the aunt became weak, even the neighbors stopped coming to her. Although earlier, when she was healthy, all the neighbors constantly went to her and enjoyed her hospitality and kindness. Today she has become useless to no one.
-What is the main advice you received in life from relatives or friends? Did you follow him?
“She was all advised to start a family,” Lasha says, “but unfortunately, she probably didn’t meet such a person with whom she could do it. And today, of course, my aunt wouldn’t be so unhappy and alone.
- Did you help someone from a stranger to you?
“You know, she always helped everyone,” Lasha replies, “many used it.”
-Do you want to correspond with someone or call up?
“You see, it’s almost impossible to understand her speech,” says her nephew. “These medicines she needs so much can improve her speech by a few percent. Therefore, she most of all about them and dreams. She wants to communicate and be more active.
-Do you want a priest to visit you?
Lady Vladimir began nodding her head, and we were able to understand the words "consecrate" and "want."
-Before whom I would like to apologize and for what?
-When the aunt fell and stopped walking, she asked for forgiveness from all who ever offended
ate, - answered Lasha for the aunt.
This ended our conversation.
You know, friends, to see so sad eyes of a person who is unnecessary and unhealthy for anyone - it is inexpressibly painful. We wrote at the beginning that hope was glowing in those sad eyes. Hope that they will surely help. Let us not let this helpless person, whose life is completely dependent on you and me. She was not lucky enough to become a mother, or a beloved wife, or a bybushka. And now, at the end of her life, she is forced to drag out all alone in such a miserable existence on the verge of starvation and absolute physical impotence. And the dream of this broken life of a woman who is in such a helpless state is only medicines, with the help of which she can somehow communicate with social workers and with her nephew.
It is enough for each of us to penetrate to this helpless, lonely woman and help to beautify her gloomy old age a little.
P.S. Despite the fact that life did not spare her, she did not embitter for the Lord, for life, or for people. It was felt when communicating with her and it was absolutely clear to us.
