Chernovetsky Charitable Foundation is an organization that is not indifferent to the fate of every person, without exception. And it is not surprising that the number of beneficiaries of our Fund is growing every day! Now all our thoughts and deeds are aimed at providing immediate assistance to our fellow citizens in distress.
40-year-old Pavel Juraev has been visiting our Day Center for over one year. He also has lunch in our free dining room and has the opportunity to use various services of the Foundation. We talked with him and asked to talk about his life and those problems that are most relevant to him:
– Pavel, who are you by profession?
Pavel: I graduated from the Tbilisi Veterinary Academy, but I never worked in my specialty, I can’t find a job. Here I go to the unemployed for more than ten years. They propose to go to the construction site, but it doesn’t matter if I see it, my eyes hurt and therefore it doesn’t suit me.
– How long do you go to our foundation?
Pavel: I just recently turned a year, when I started going to your Foundation. Here I found comfort and care, communicate with people, spend time and have lunch. By the way, you have very tasty food. I used to go to the canteen of the city hall, but there is no comparison. They cook badly there, not much is edible, but you, on the contrary, are just wonderful! Many thanks to your foundation!
What does he mean to you?
Pavel: you know, the most difficult task in the modern world is simply to remain a person who is not indifferent to the fate of others. After all, we are faced with a wall of indifference every day. And in your Foundation, the man and his problems are in the first place. This is good news and not reassuring!
-Are you married?
Pavel: No, not married. I take care of my mother and aunt. They are sick women and require special attention. I try to take care of them, although the material need does not allow “to give all the best” in this respect.
What else do you do?
Pavel: I, as a veterinarian by training, really love animals. I watch over more than 100 street dogs and cats. I get up at 5 am, collect scraps at homes and restaurants, and then feed the dogs … In the Kvemo district, Ponichala last year even wanted to set up a shelter for homeless animals, particularly in the vacant area of the former train station. Good people gave 6 dog houses, but the city authorities decided to donate this territory for the construction of some object … Unfortunately, these houses have disappeared, they are simply stolen.
-Are you religious?
Pavel: yes, of course. I believe that the duty of every person is to strictly follow the biblical commandments and do good! As stated in the Holy Scripture, “He who understands to do good, and does not do it, is a sin.”
– And the last question – what are you dreaming about?
Pavel: I dream of having a good job to help others!
