Friends! On November 28, our beautiful Barbare will turn 9! Let’s give her a birthday to remember! The little girl is sad because her parents can’t even afford a slice of cake, let alone a gift. Barbare has six siblings, and the only thing they’ll be able to give her are homemade post cards. Can we really let her birthday go by without a surprise? Barbare has a developmental delay. The best gift we can give her is support in her recovery. She urgently needs life-saving medications. And Barbara also dreams of having a tablet – to watch her favorite cartoons. Watching them helps her forget about her pain and feel genuinely happy.
Barbare: “I’d love a big chocolate cake, enough for everyone to have a slice! And 9 candles to blow out so I can make a wish. I believe in miracles. Do you think my dream will come true, and someone will give me a tablet?!”
Poor, gravely ill Barbare cries bitterly because she doesn’t have any toys. And the other kids don’t want to play with her. But she’s a human being too, friends! When she plays, she forgets about her illness! Let’s give her a happy childhood!
Barbare is eight years old. She is a special child—she has a developmental disability. Her poor parents can’t even afford to buy medications for her. There are six other children in the family, and the social allowance they receive is not enough for everyone. The children haven’t any toys at all. Barbara feels very sad and upset about this. She often cries because she doesn’t have a doll or a teddy bear. But her biggest dream is to have her own tablet for learning and playing. And also, a bicycle – the first one in the family. She would share it with her sisters and brothers. When she’s playing, she forgets about her illness and feels great!
