Seven-year-old Alina has always greeted the New Year with tears in her eyes—she’s never had gifts or a shiny dress to wear. Friends, let’s make this year the one that brings a true miracle into this poor girl’s life for the very first time. You don’t need a magic wand – just your kind heart will be enough.

Meet Alina and her little brother Mikael.

This tiny angel, Mikael, is only three months old. He was born at a time when death was trying to claim his seven-year-old sister, Alina. But, with God’s help, the doctors managed to save her life. However, Alina’s condition remains critical. She has been diagnosed with one of humanity’s most insidious diseases—a malignant brain tumor. Alina can’t walk, she can’t even stand up for a moment. She can’t talk either, but with her eyes, she signals her mother to bring her closer to her baby brother’s stroller. It’s heart-wrenching to see the invisible bond between Alina and Mikael – a connection that only the pure, unconditional love between siblings can explain.

The Ambartsumyan family with four young children lives in a rented house. What can a 30-year-old mother do? Scrape together the rent? Pay the utility bills? Or use whatever she has to buy food and winter clothes for her children? Alina doesn’t have a doll or even a stuffed teddy bear. She welcomed the first month of winter in thin clothing, trembling from the cold. Soon, New Year preparations will begin. Alina’s peers will receive beautiful gifts from their parents. But for Alina, there will be no presents, no beautiful dress.

She’ll greet the New Year with tear-filled, hopeless eyes. Kind-hearted people, only through your generosity can this poor girl greet the New Year with a smile instead of despair.
