0901200270Giorgi: Your Fund gave me wings! After you wrote an article about me, miracles began to happen in my life. Do you remember – I thought I didn’t even want to live? That my life had no meaning. What should have happened in the life of a boy without arms.
– What happened?
Giorgi: I got a call from the Paraolympic Sports Development Federation and was offered to become a Paraolympic athlete. It seemed to me funny at first. How, can I become an athlete without arms? First, I refused, but then decided to take a chance.
And, you will not believe, I became the champion of Europe in taekwondo. It is true! Can you believe? I still can’t believe. I visited countries that I could not even dream of. And now I’m preparing for the World Cup. If I become a champion there, I dream of making prosthetic arms to hug everyone who helped me become what I am now.
– I have a strange question to you. Do you think you could achieve all this if trouble had not happened to you, and you would not have lost your arm.
Giorgi: I thought about it a lot. Thought my life was over. But nothing happens without God! So, he had plans for me. And now I think that my life is just starting. And I hope that people will stand by me and help me realize my most cherished dream – to have prosthetic hands. They are very expensive, and even with my prizes, I alone cannot buy them for myself.
Now, I know, you in the Fund have decided to start raising funds so that I can “grow” full-fledged hands! This is very big money! But now I can’t help but trust God. He can do everything! Because I am Georgian! And Georgians are the kindest people in the whole world!
I am so grateful that my country is Georgia! I’m its armless sports hero.
