“Mommy isn’t really crying, just pretends crying,” – says 4-year-old Nina. “We play mommy-daughter, and now my Mommy is my daughter. I used to be her daughter, but she turned into a baby. She can’t walk and speaks like a baby, so softly – I don’t understand anything. I must give her water and wipe away tears, as if she can’t do it herself. And like a baby she can’t put herself to bed… We have such a game”.
Nina, the dear child, is being cunning; she doesn’t want to upset the foundation journalist. She’s tired of the tears of those around her! For the past year, all she’s heard from adults is how sorry they feel for her because her beloved mommy, who not long ago carried her in her arms, is now seriously ill and only quietly moans in despair.
