It stopped completely, and death approached.  The ambulance brought her, almost dead, to the hospital. Her only 16-year-old daughter wept bitterly over the loss of her mother. And then the Lord worked a miracle – a true miracle, and the doctors who witnessed it kept crossing themselves for a long time afterward!  The doctors performed emergency surgery and implanted a pacemaker. Zhanna urgently needs repeat heart surgery; otherwise, her chances of survival are less than one percent. However, cursed poverty prevents the unfortunate mother from getting this urgent surgery. Medications temporarily sustain the desperate woman, but meager social allowance does not even allow her to buy the medications! According to the documents, the value of a Georgian woman’s life has been set at $8,300—money the unfortunate woman has never even seen.

Friends, a family with seven children has reached out to our Fund for help.  The little ones are crammed into a single room with a leaky roof. They survive solely on social allowance.  But honestly, it’s hard to understand how they manage, especially with both the father and one of the daughters being seriously ill. Father and daughter. Barbara is a special child, she’s 8 years old and has an intellectual disability. She’s irritable and constantly needs medication. Without sedatives, she won’t sleep through the night. She needs home schooling, but the family can’t afford a special teacher. The father has a hernia and needs spinal surgery. But instead of going to the hospital, he takes on side jobs to support his family, risking his health even though he’s not allowed to lift heavy things. The mother works as a janitor through a social program, leaving her two-year-old twins in the care of her older daughters. Despite their efforts, the parents have to buy groceries on credit to keep the children from going hungry.  Tinatini, the mother, knew her future husband came from a poor family even before they got married, but she wasn’t afraid of the financial struggles. For her, love and understanding are what matter most. 

Nani had to endure many hurtful words throughout her years. The pain caused by them hurts her stronger than physical pain. “Ugly,” “crooked”… she can’t even remember them all. Now she is a strong 65-year-old woman. She is no longer afraid of hurtful words, but her wounds inflicted by sharp words still haven’t healed.

Little Ioseb’s bones break from the seizures! If we don’t help now, his suffering will make his entire family the most miserable in the world!
​Poor Ioseb experiences terrible pain from an epileptic seizure. One year ago, the convulsions twisted his muscles so much that his leg broke from the tension… can you imagine how he suffers and what pain the little one has to endure! Not every adult could endure it! ! His muscles tense as if they want to break all the bones. But the most terrible pain is the pain of a loving mother witnessing her son’s suffering! It’s painful for both Ioseb and his mother. Watching this is the ultimate punishment on earth! Poor little one, he suffers so much.

Lazare: I don’t remember what I ate yesterday… Mom brings food from the free kitchen, but it’s not enough for everyone. There are four children in our family. Whoever gets to it first, eats. I didn’t get any because I was playing outside. So I stayed hungry. God forbid anyone should have to look into their own children’s hungry eyes every day and not be able to feed them.
