Both in appearance and spirit, Zurab and Galina resemble gentle and innocent blind children navigating through a dense forest teeming with wild and bloodthirsty beasts! And there’s not a single strong and kind hero around to protect them! “It’s very, very hard to live when everyone wants to deceive you,” says Zurab, who endured two years of deceitful treatments from fraudulent doctors, promising to restore his sight while the nerve in his eye had long since perished. The doctors drained the last pennies from the family! Oh, if only we could find them and look into their “rotten” eyes… Some “beasts” are suing them to take away their apartment, while others are waiting for their death from hunger and cold, because then they will be able to seize the apartment completely for free! That’s why the latter have deprived them of any social protection: the elderly receive mere pennies of social assistance and are inquired…

Mrs. Manana is a nurse by profession. She dedicated her life to caring for others. But now she is alone. Alone with the illness, pain, and hardships that life has dealt her. She has no one to empathize with her, to give her water, or, as she says, to bury her. For more than a year, she has been unable to eat on her own. She can’t go to the bathroom or even approach the window to see the sun. She has no food, medicine, refrigerator, washing machine, gas, or heating. But first and foremost, she dreams of having a bed.
The bed in her home is an old broken sofa with books instead of legs. It’s impossible to lie on it.

Gio has been in a coma for three months. The only sign of life he shows is opening and closing his eyes. Just think how unbearable this is—a 21-year-old man has to spend his days in a hospital bed, breathing through a machine. He receives food and water through a feeding tube. But the worst part is the seizures tormenting Gio. They’re so severe they twist his arms and legs. How does he endure such suffering? On September 15, 2024, he was involved in a horrific accident in Germany, where he had gone to work.  Multiple injuries to his body and organs weren’t as devastating as the blow to his chest. His heart stopped. No one gave him a chance—no guarantees, no false hopes. Doctors told his parents to pray for a miracle. And the miracle happened. Gio managed to survive. German managed to bring the boy back from the brink of death. His heart started beating again, but he didn’t regain consciousness and fell into a coma.  The diagnosis is grim—brain infarction. Fortunately, Gio still has a chance to come back to life because he has already won the biggest battle.  Please, save this young man! He won’t be able to cope without your help! 

For Liana, every day is a battle for life. Every movement is painful – physically and emotionally – but she refuses to give up. Her nightmare began the moment she felt a small lump in her breast. The diagnosis was devastating – stage four cancer.

Liana, 59: “I’ve been hospitalized so many times. I’ve had countless IVs and injections.  On top of that, I survived sepsis – a blood infection that nearly killed me. But I made it through. Still, I’m left with an unpaid bill – 700 lari for my treatment in intensive care. I have no idea how to pay it off. I also need follow-up tests, but I simply can’t afford them. I spent 30 years working as a dog trainer, but now I have no strength left. My only hope is your Fund and the kindness of strangers.”

Liana is wasting away before our eyes… She can barely bring herself to look in the mirror.

She has already undergone ten sessions of radiation therapy. But her tumor is so aggressive that the cancer has spread to her bones and brain. 

With each passing day, her condition worsens. Every minute counts. She suffers from unbearable pain and extreme weakness. 

She can hardly get out of bed. Severe dizziness makes it impossible for her to walk without assistance. For almost three months, she hasn’t seen the sun. 

Look at these unfortunate souls, and let their grief enter your heart! The conditions in which these poor children and their parents live are a disgrace to Georgia. They have no one but us, but together we can make 2025 the best year this large Georgian family has ever known. Friends, your help has saved and continues to save dozens and hundreds of lives. Now, five small children are in danger—they live in horrific conditions! The youngest, Luka, is only a year and a half old. This large family is barely making ends meet. The parents struggle greatly to feed their little ones.  Only a social canteen saves them.
