Barbare is just one year old, and her tears never stop. These beautiful eyes have never seen joy. Her unfortunate parents, Ira and Avtandil, waited for the birth of a child for 10 years not to see only her tears, suffering, not to witness their long-awaited child die and come back to life in the mother’s arms several times a day! It’s all due to the negligence, lack of compassion, and carelessness of the doctors!

In our beloved Georgia, many people are not just below the poverty line – They are in tremendous need! And the worst part is – they have no one to rely on except for us. If we don’t help, some will become lifelong incurable cripples, others will die, and still others will perish from unbearable suffering! Schoolchildren won’t attend school – they have nothing to put on! They lack basic gadgets! They’re alone – like in a wild desert – alone with sorrow and suffering! Social allowance in Georgia are lower than in many African countries! The country is emptying: no jobs, no future… Without us, friends! And we just have to give them a chance at life, to give them pride in the country, in its good people, who for thousands of years have historically helped all who have come to us!

The little one has cancer. Three years ago, his stomach started aching, and his mom thought he had eaten too many chips, but the pain only became stronger! “And the doctors gave an almost fatal ‘verdict’ – KIDNEY CANCER!”
Nikoloz (7-year-old): Yes, Auntie, I have cancer. They took me to hospital and did not let me out from there. They told me: ‘If we let you go, you will die’ – and I got scared! Very scared! Then they urgently ‘flew’ me to Germany, took X-rays, then cut my stomach open and found cancer there. I don’t know what it is, what it looks like – but I know it’s scary! They removed my kidney. Then I came back home, but I felt bad again and we had to go to Germany again, and they removed my spleen and something else. Then they gave me a lot of medicines, did some radiation, transfusions, and chemotherapy to shrink and stop the cancer. I felt better. I won’t die,

What is it like to know that your child’s time is limited? And even if he doesn’t pass away before the age of two, he will never fully recover, and he will never be able to walk? To keep Dima alive, it takes just a little – our help!
Doctors have already done their part – they have diagnosed and prescribed treatment, but sustaining the child’s life comes at a high cost for his mother. Dima has a stoma in his throat that he breathes through, requiring regular cleaning. Unfortunately, his mother can’t afford to buy new sterile tubes, so she has to reuse old ones multiple times. This poses a significant risk to Dima’s weakened immune system.
“When I received my son’s diagnosis, it felt as if the ground had been ripped from beneath me. It was like being drenched in icy water! I felt so physically unwell that the doctors had to help me regain my composure. Spinal muscular atrophy type 1 – I was already aware of it… it was the most devastating news for my dear Dima.”

Maya lost the ability to walk during her pregnancy. She gave birth to a wonderful son, Saba, but she herself stopped walking. It turned out that it was due to inflammation in her spinal cord. “For these four years, while my Saba was growing, I couldn’t even dress myself,” Maia says. “I couldn’t even straighten a sock on my foot. I couldn’t stand up or walk to the bathroom. I was just alive and breathing. What kind of life is that?” We will show you the results of the tests and treatments that Maia received thanks to the friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund. Maia can walk with crutches, do exercises, and even do simple household chores. Maia has overcome her deep pessimism and believes that she will be able to take her son to kindergarten on her own! Thanks to the treatment, Maia has achieved real results. Thank you for helping her regain her spirit and believe in a positive outcome. However, there are still many problems where your help is needed. Maia has no means to feed or clothe her little son. Magda (12 years old, blind in both eyes): The world without sight is like a vast dark labyrinth. I can’t see the world, but I feel it. I can hear, touch, and smell, but I will never see the beauty described by others.
Living in horrifying poverty is already a tremendous challenge, and adding the loss of sight to it makes the situation truly hopeless. Each of us carries a glimmer of hope, but what is it like when even the brightest light cannot penetrate the darkness?
