This is five-year-old Degoli from Chiatura.

He comes from a large family where his parents are raising six children. The family lives in extreme poverty, and Degoli, driven by hunger, ate garlic and is now crying because his stomach hurts. There was nothing else to eat in the house.   His first wish is to have a full meal. His second wish is for toys, as he and his siblings don’t have a single one. Degoli would love a remote-controlled car. And his third wish is for a TV with internet access so he can watch cartoons and listen to music. Degoli has a good ear for music and loves singing; his favorite song is “Shatilis Asulo.” However, he doesn’t want to become a singer—he dreams of becoming a police officer   to protect his beloved country from criminals.
