Friends, we are so embarrassed that 11-year-old Gvantsa, a beautiful girl on the brink of becoming a young lady, will go to school carrying a plastic bag instead of a backpack and wearing old clothes, just to be laughed at! Will we allow Gvantsa to be humiliated like that? This child dreams of a miracle happening before school starts—that someone will be kind enough to give her a new bag and clothes.

REPOST RIGHT AWAY, MY GOOD MAN! HELP YOUR FRIENDS FIND THE WAY TO GOD!

From this crumbling shack, Gvantsa will carry her books to school in a plastic bag.

This is 11-year-old Gvantsa. The home you see in the photo is hers. Yes, this dilapidated shack, which is worse than a cowshed, is where this little girl lives. The heartbreaking reality is that every day, this child’s life is at serious risk. Even the slightest wind makes the house tremble as if it’s about to collapse.  Before going to sleep each night, Gvantsa prays to God that she and her four younger siblings won’t end up buried under the ruins of their home. When the Fund’s reporter visited, Gvantsa’s sad eyes lit up. And when asked what she dreams of, the question seemed unbelievable to her. Perhaps no one had ever asked this poor girl what her dreams were.

Gvantsa (11 years old): School is starting soon. Other kids will come to school nicely dressed. But I’ll be wearing torn shoes and old clothes. I won’t even be able to stand next to the other kids for a photo. I wouldn’t want to ruin the picture with my ragged clothes and a plastic bag, would I?

– Gvantsa, what do you mean about a plastic bag?

Gvantsa: Auntie, I’m embarrassed to say this, but I’ll have to carry my textbooks to school in this plastic bag because I don’t have a backpack. Last year, I used a donated bag, but it was so old that it fell apart, and this year even an old bag seems like a dream. Before bed, I dream and travel in my imaginary world.

– Tell me about your world. Share a secret: what do you dream of before going to sleep?

Gvantsa: I dream of wearing a new dress and new shoes at least once. I also wish that my feet won’t get wet in the winter anymore. I really love playing in the snow, but since I’ve never had warm boots, I don’t enjoy it as much when it snows. My feet get wet, and then I get a high fever, but Mom doesn’t have money for medication. I dream of having a pair of warm boots and a warm coat. I don’t have any warm sweaters either.

I want to dance in an ensemble; I’ve taught myself to dance. Dancing brings me the most joy. But my mom can’t afford to take me to a choreographer. My heart aches terribly.

I also dream of having a phone, even a cheap one. I’m not the kind of kid who dreams of expensive things. I want a phone because teachers post school assignments in the class chat. Also, if kids have questions or don’t understand an assignment, they write in the chat. I’m the only child in the entire school who doesn’t have a phone. I dream that someday at least this wish will come true. But I don’t believe anymore, Auntie. Maybe poor children’s dreams never come true. I’m a child from the poorest family in this village.

Kind people, you must see for yourselves how upset and desperate this child is! Gvantsa should be trying on beautiful clothes for school and beaming with joy in front of the mirror. But sadly, the poor girl doesn’t even want to look in the mirror because all she’ll see is a tear-streaked face in ragged clothes.

If you are willing to visit the family and help them in person, here is their address: Bagdati Municipality, village Obcha.
