Nini, a little Georgian beauty, dreams of a soft bed and a warm childhood! Lord, help her to find hope for the New Year!

Nini stands near the ruins of her home. She was born after occupiers burned down her house in 2008. Her cradle should have been rocked within these walls, but the homeless family had to move into a bakery, where they still live.

The roof could collapse at any moment, putting the girl’s life at risk.

After school, a hungry Nini gives her younger brother Gio a piece of bread. But all day, her stomach ached from hunger. And her socks were wet. Why? Because water seeped through her worn-out shoes. She dreams of warm boots, like the other children have. Nini has never had new clothes. She doesn’t ask for pretty ones—just something warm. Oh, Lord,

how much pain and sorrow can this little girl endure?

Aside from winter clothes, her biggest dream is to have a proper bed. She sleeps on a rusty iron bed that hurts her back.

Nini (7 years old): “My biggest dream is to have a soft bed so I can sleep well and dream happy dreams. Maybe in my dreams, they’ll come true? I want to do well in school and try hard, but I don’t even have a small desk to study at.
Every child has one. I dream of having one too.”

Kind people, New Year is approaching. Our children are warm at home, waiting for gifts.
