Oh Lord, how much sadness is in the blue eyes of this little angel. His tear-filled eyes tell a painful story. The child has caught a cold—he’s coughing, his nose is running. His poor mother went to the pharmacy with just a few coins she had saved for food. But the money wasn’t enough to buy the expensive medicines he needed. She could only afford fever-reducing medicine. Little Gio is shivering. He doesn’t have a warm sweater, jacket, or even proper shoes. The firewood is gone, and the child sits miserably on a rusty metal bed in a damp room, curled up against the cold, his eyes silently pleading for help.

In his cup, there’s only hot water. His mother made him “tea” to soothe his cold. Can this even be called tea? There isn’t even a pinch of sugar in it. For the freezing child, the hot “tea” is a small comfort. Look at the thin, worn-out clothes he wears in such cold weather. Oh Lord, what injustice! When asked by a Fund correspondent what he wanted, Giorgi pointed to the warm jacket the journalist was wearing. Kind people, imagine how happy this child would be if he had warm winter clothes and shoes.

This hungry little boy offered the Fund correspondent his only piece of dry bread. Such a small boy, but with such a big heart. Yes, in Giorgi, our country is raising a true hero. Let us pray to God that this kindness in his heart never fades.
