Three-year-old twins Levan and Davit are sharing their last piece of bread. The boys faint from hunger, yet they try to feed each other with what little they have. God, how much grace there is in these little angels. Our homeland has no idea what heroes are growing up in the faces of the Mchedlishvili brothers.

Their home was destroyed in a fire. The three-year-olds couldn’t understand why the flames took away their toys, clothes, and shoes. The children had just begun speaking, but the terror of that night left them speechless. Can you imagine the helpless cries of children trapped in a burning house? They stared death straight in the eyes. Friends, these little angels don’t even have a single warm piece of clothing left. They’re walking around in summer sneakers. Everything burned to ashes in the fire. Kind-hearted people, the three-year-old twins held the hand of the Fund’s reporter and led them to the room where they used to sleep.

“Auntie, all our clothes burned in the fire, in the fire,” they stammered, tears streaming from their blue eyes.

Cold and starving, the children “eat” hot tea with a spoon.

Good people, one of these little angels clasped his tiny hands to his throat in a silent plea. The only dream the twins have right now is food and warm clothes. Oh God, oh God!
