Tariel (70 years old): My wife died 30 years ago. Before she died, she asked me not to bring a "new mom" to our only son. I promised her that and kept my word. I started raising our young son all by myself. Can you imagine how hard it was for a single man? But I never broke my word to my wife. 

Nine years ago, I ended up in the intensive care unit because of a stroke. No one thought I'd make it. I wish I hadn't. What is the meaning of my life if no one knows about my and my son's grief?!  I set aside my pension and went to the doctor. He prescribed medication and told me to take it after meals. How could I tell the doctor that I didn't even have food at home? I was given medicine on credit at the village pharmacy. But the more expensive medicines were not here, they said they were sold in the city pharmacy. Who would give them on credit to me there?

I buy firewood to keep warm. Do you know how much firewood costs? Last month I couldn't buy any and I was shivering in these cold walls. Sometimes my neighbors bring me hot soup. God bless all the good people! God bless my Georgia! There are so many unfortunate people... 

The old man's only son appreciated his father's kindness. The little boy, left without a mother, is now 37 years old, and he cares for his father just as his father cared for him when he was a child. But what is he to do if he is living with his hands tied? He spends all his days at his father's bedside. He can't work because he can't leave his bedridden dad.

Giorgi (37-year-old): Before my father got sick, I worked and was going to get married, I had a girlfriend. But she married another man. "What daughter-in-law would want to share a room with a sick bedridden man? We don't have another room. The rooms on the second floor are completely destroyed. It rains in these rooms like it rains outside.
