Michael Jackson – The King’s Generosity!

Michael Jackson – The King’s Generosity!

Beyond his awards and achievements in an incredible career, Michael Jackson’s dedication to charitable causes stands out.
In 2000, the Guinness World Records recognized him for supporting 39 charitable organizations, the most for a pop star. Michael’s efforts raised hundreds of millions of dollars. In 1984, he donated all his earnings from The Victory Tour (around $3–5 million) to charity. A year later, he donated $1.5 million to establish the Michael Jackson Burn Center at Brotman Medical Center in Los Angeles and helped organize the USA for Africa project. The charity single “We Are the World,” co-written with Lionel Richie, became the best-selling single of the year, raising millions for impoverished communities in Africa.
Michael’s humanitarian efforts continued for decades.
He supported organizations such as Make-A-Wish, United Negro College Fund, and Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times (a haven for cancer patients and their families).
In 1992, he founded the Heal the World Foundation, which funded everything from drug abuse education to delivering 46 tons of aid to war-torn Sarajevo.
In addition, his humanitarian efforts were also reflected in his will, which provided for the use of a portion of his estate for charitable efforts to help children around the world.
