Look into the child’s eyes. He’s trying to “hold back his tears” because he feels embarrassed to cry in front of a “stranger lady.” He’s already a man. This poor child was abandoned by his father, who never even bothered to buy him a piece of gum that costs just 10 tetri. Little Zuka’s heart is filled with sadness and sorrow. His eyes say that he is a rejected child. You know… There’s always a different kind of sadness in the eyes of children abandoned by their parents – a sorrow that only they can understand. This poor boy has never had any toys. You heard that right. In his four years, not even for five minutes has he held a toy in his hands. His poor mother doesn’t have money even for bread. Other children avoid Zuka and don’t play with him. They won’t even share their toys. The only reason is that his clothes are old and his shoes are torn.  Parents, before buying your children new clothes, give them something more valuable—teach them to love and support children in need!

Zuka (4 years old):  I dream of having a bicycle. I’ve asked other kids so many times to let me ride just a little, but they always said no. You can’t sit on a bike in those old pants,’ they told me and started laughing. It hurt me so much. I don’t even have a ball to play with. And I want to be a football player, but tell me, Auntie (speaking to the reporter), have you ever seen a football player without a ball? I’ve dreamed for so long of having a remote-control car, but my dream never came true. Winter is coming soon. When I wake up tomorrow, I wish a warm jacket and boots would fall from the sky. Oh God, I’d be so happy.”
