Cancer May Be Treated Through the Immune System
A technology that recently helped fight COVID-19 may now become a weapon against cancer. The focus is on mRNA vaccines – the same approach that “teaches” the immune system.
Scientists are applying this principle by introducing instructions that enable the immune system to recognize tumors as enemies. Unlike traditional therapies, this method does not directly attack cancer cells – the body does it itself.
Early results are promising. In experimental models, tumors shrink, and the immune system shows a sustained response. The technology is now moving into human trials.
If successful, medicine could gain a universal tool against many types of cancer – more precise and less harmful to the body.
