The Janelidze family was graced with two kind and wonderful boys. Their mother, Eliza, was overjoyed beyond words. And their father, Geronti, would proudly say to everyone, “I am raising two brave sons for my homeland.” Indeed, as the years went by, the boys grew more handsome and, most importantly, were known throughout the Abasha district as well-mannered and kind-hearted brothers. Most people held this loving family in high regard. But envy is a cruel thing—there were those who begrudged the couple’s boundless love and happiness. That envy bore bitter fruit. It is heartbreaking to write these words: neither of those young men is alive today. Gangrene and liver cirrhosis, two merciless diseases, claimed their lives. Since then, every day for their devastated parents has been a living hell. Their poor mother clings to old photographs of her children, and her heart feels like it is being torn in two. No one can truly understand the fiery agony consuming her heart. Eliza’s soul aches in ways only a mother who has lost her children could comprehend. No one else…

Mirian was 35 years old when, on that fateful evening, a car struck him as he stood on the sidewalk. The driver lost control, and the blood of an innocent young man was spilled. Mirian suffered injuries that were deemed incompatible with life. His head injuries were so severe that doctors gave him less than a one percent chance of survival. He had multiple skull fractures, and you can probably imagine what that means. Mirian spent three months in a coma. The first surgery was performed in Moscow, but his condition only worsened afterward. Following the unsuccessful surgery, Mirian was transported to Georgia by a mobile resuscitation vehicle. In total, the poor young man underwent four brain surgeries. And throughout all this time, he felt nothing, perceived nothing, and was barely distinguishable from the dead—except that he was breathing. But Mirian’s heroic mother refused to give up. This poor woman achieved the impossible for her son. Indeed, after the fourth brain surgery, with God’s help, Mirian emerged from his critical condition, and for the first time, he had a real chance of survival.

Raul was only 20 days old when a high fever caused him to have severe seizures. There was no doctor in the village, and by the time they got him to the district center he got paralyzed. The devastating diagnosis was cerebral palsy (CP). His parents were shocked – they hadn’t yet recovered from a horrific tragedy: their firstborn daughter, just 1 year and 8 months old, had died of diphtheria. Imagine how hard it was for them to accept their son’s condition! For 26 years, Raul has lived with constant pain. His left leg is so twisted it can’t be straightened. Raul’s spine is severely curved, which has deformed his internal organs. Even breathing is painful for him. He cannot go without painkillers and sedatives. He’s been in a wheelchair since childhood. It has replaced his legs, as he cannot take even a few steps on his own.

A mother of three children is being eaten alive by a malignant tumor that is spreading throughout the body at a terrifying speed! Do you know what this means? Insidious bone cancer is capturing all healthy organs one by one: the mammary gland, the thyroid gland, the spine. Friends, God gives us one chance to save a life, but we need to act right now! The young woman needs a course of expensive chemotherapy in Turkey. The cost of one procedure is about five thousand dollars. In order to get back on her feet, Natela needs to pay for three of these procedures and, most importantly, endure them. Of course, her relatives are selling everything valuable they have, but this is not enough. The family cannot cope without your help!

The second, most complicated operation costs 15 thousand dollars. The only hope for these unfortunate mother and daughter is you, good people! There is very little time. According to Turkish doctors, if Natia does not undergo a second operation in a few days, then the good result of the first operation will not only be “lost”, but Natia’s condition will also worsen, and why, the doctors explained to us in detail, but we will not bother you, dear reader. Remember that by donating at least one lari, you can save not only Natia’s life, but also her poor mother-heroine, who spent her entire youth and old age in suffering, watching the hellish torment of her daughter. Let’s give joy to this heroic woman at least in the last years of her life.

The War in Abkhazia More than 10,000 Georgian civilians lost their lives. Approximately 10,000 were wounded or maimed, and over 300,000 Georgians were forcibly expelled from their homes in Abkhazia by separatists. At just 20 years old, Lika bandaged wounds and stopped the bleeding of soldiers during the Abkhazian War. She never left the bodies of fallen soldiers on the battlefield.  Risking her own life, she carried them out so their parents could at least have a grave to bury their sons. This brave young woman is now a widow. She has no home, no food, and no money for medicine. She lives in the same conditions as a stray dog. This horrifying building, once a tuberculosis clinic, is now her home.  There’s no electricity, no heating, no windows. The walls are rotting from dampness.  Lika, a hero who saved so many lives and fought for the unity of her homeland, now resides in this terrible place. Even in the homeland she fought to protect, there wasn’t a single decent room for Lika. Left without shelter, she was forced to seek refuge in an abandoned building still infested with tuberculosis bacteria known to science for centuries. These rooms, once occupied by tuberculosis patients battling for their lives, are now the only place this heroic woman can call home. Oh, God, it is so terrible!
Even worse, Lika is seriously ill. She underwent heart surgery, but her condition remains critical, requiring ongoing treatment. She has no money for bread, let alone medication. She also has a large uterine cyst that needs urgent removal, or it will develop into a tumor.
