Natalia is only 1 year and 8 months old. But the entire staff at the renowned Turkish oncology clinic has already fallen in love with her. Poor thing, they found a tumor in her body that had clenched onto her spinal vertebrae like a relentless predator. Kiss your healthy children more often, friends! And remember, you’re the luckiest people in the world! Thank God, your child is healthy and doesn’t plead with you with beautiful eyes and tears to save them from terrible pain!

Can you imagine a dying, still young 41-year-old woman, gravely ill with a constant temperature of 39–40 degrees, sometimes managing to get out of bed to collect scrap metal just to buy medicine for herself and her severely ill children, and of course, some food? At least for them – for the children – she loves more than life! A horror that cannot be described in words! God forbid any of us to experience such a thing!!! We ask the friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund to respond and take this family’s plight as their own! The most important thing God has allowed us to do in this life is not to pass by someone else’s misfortune! 
First and foremost, we need to take care of the mother. If something happens to her, God forbid, we will never forgive ourselves!  It’s unimaginable how the sick children will cope without their mother. Mom is sacred to them, that’s all they have.

Anna (mom): And now I have two seriously ill children in my arms and a life full of suffering! Because I feel everything that my children feel! Every mother in the world has such a connection with their children. “Poor Nikoloz was oprated on his legs three times. And according to the doctors, he won’t survive a fourth surgery! They advise against it… But who knows? Maybe the friends of the Fund have surgeons who will give another advice?”. For 31-year-old Anna, every day begins with a battle. Her hands tirelessly toil, she does everything with love and utmost effort! But in the silence of the night, when her children fall asleep and the world stands still, her soul trembles with pain. “If it weren’t for my husband, I would have collapsed myself. The children especially need affection – they constantly ask us to pick them up. And my husband has a severely diseased heart – he needs treatment too! I won’t survive alone! He’s such a kind person, he worries so much about the children.”

Every time Gela experiences an attack, he feels like he’s saying goodbye to life.  The ambulance might not make it in time to save him.   He struggles to breathe, unable to take even a single breath in or out. An oxygen concentrator is Gela’s only chance to survive, but he doesn’t have the money to buy one. His disability pension and 30-lari social allowance can’t even cover the medications cost. Every time he has an attack, the ambulance team has to come and revive him. Friends, Gela doesn’t remember a single joyful day in his life.  He was in fourth grade when his mother got sick, and he had to take on the responsibility of caring for the family.   This little boy milked a cow and cooked meals all by himself. He’s been through so much hardship and deserves a peaceful old age and the most basic comfort.  There’s no one else he can turn to but us!  Together, we can give Gela a chance to keep living!

Maya lost the ability to walk during her pregnancy. She gave birth to a wonderful son, Saba, but she herself stopped walking. It turned out that it was due to inflammation in her spinal cord. “For these four years, while my Saba was growing, I couldn’t even dress myself,” Maia says. “I couldn’t even straighten a sock on my foot. I couldn’t stand up or walk to the bathroom. I was just alive and breathing. What kind of life is that?” We will show you the results of the tests and treatments that Maia received thanks to the friends of the Chernovetskyi Fund. Maia can walk with crutches, do exercises, and even do simple household chores. Maia has overcome her deep pessimism and believes that she will be able to take her son to kindergarten on her own! One year ago, on December 23rd, Nini died… She was still alive when they brought her to the hospital. There, her heart stopped. The doctors were indifferent, they did not even pay attention to her. The screams and cries of her mother reached the heavens. “Save her, revive her!” she shouted. “Give my martyr back her breath.” But the doctors just watched the girl die, and for some reason did not take her to intensive care.
