Don’t think this photo is a scene from a TV drama.  Unfortunately, this is reality, and it is happening in our small country.  Twelve-year-old Megi burst into tears when she saw a Fund’s correspondent come to her home. This little girl began to tell such a tragic story about her family that one could think she was recounting a tragic film plot. Malicious death took away her beloved brother soon after birth, and now it is trying to take his twin brother, three-year-old Zuka. The cursed poverty turns death against him even more. The Pipia family is living in hell.

This is the horrible scene we witnessed when we visited the Javellidze family. 11-year-old Mariam had so severe attack, she couldn’t even breathe. Thank God, kind neighbors rushed in and helped her mother revive the poor child. Mariam’s mom is a group 2 disabled person. Do you think these terrifying attacks are the only problem this girl faces? Unfortunately, no. Brace yourself, now I have to tell you the worst part. This little girl has a disease that usually doesn’t occur in children her age. At just 11 years old, Mariam has a severe form of diabetes. This horrible disease started one year ago. But what I’m about to tell you will chill you to the bone. This 11-year-old child injects herself with insulin every day. God, it’s unbelievable!

Friends, a family with seven children has reached out to our Fund for help.  The little ones are crammed into a single room with a leaky roof. They survive solely on social allowance.  But honestly, it’s hard to understand how they manage, especially with both the father and one of the daughters being seriously ill. Father and daughter. Barbara is a special child, she’s 8 years old and has an intellectual disability. She’s irritable and constantly needs medication. Without sedatives, she won’t sleep through the night. She needs home schooling, but the family can’t afford a special teacher. The father has a hernia and needs spinal surgery. But instead of going to the hospital, he takes on side jobs to support his family, risking his health even though he’s not allowed to lift heavy things. The mother works as a janitor through a social program, leaving her two-year-old twins in the care of her older daughters. Despite their efforts, the parents have to buy groceries on credit to keep the children from going hungry.  Tinatini, the mother, knew her future husband came from a poor family even before they got married, but she wasn’t afraid of the financial struggles. For her, love and understanding are what matter most. 

Every time Gela experiences an attack, he feels like he’s saying goodbye to life.  The ambulance might not make it in time to save him.   He struggles to breathe, unable to take even a single breath in or out. An oxygen concentrator is Gela’s only chance to survive, but he doesn’t have the money to buy one. His disability pension and 30-lari social allowance can’t even cover the medications cost. Every time he has an attack, the ambulance team has to come and revive him. Friends, Gela doesn’t remember a single joyful day in his life.  He was in fourth grade when his mother got sick, and he had to take on the responsibility of caring for the family.   This little boy milked a cow and cooked meals all by himself. He’s been through so much hardship and deserves a peaceful old age and the most basic comfort.  There’s no one else he can turn to but us!  Together, we can give Gela a chance to keep living!

Every parent knows that nothing is more terrifying than seeing your own child suffer from an illness. Watching your baby in pain and being powerless to help is unbearable. We urge you to hear the plea of a mother desperately seeking help.  There is no stronger bond than that between a mother and her child. Don’t pass by. Don’t wait for someone else to help. Your support could be the real chance to save this little boy’s life. Let’s help this young, close-knit family! Together, we can work a miracle for Lazare and give him the chance to walk on his own legs!

The life of a young woman, Inga, and her three small sons has turned into a struggle for survival. Six months ago, the family lost their sole breadwinner. An instant death from a blood clot took away the children’s beloved father. He was the cemetery caretaker. Although the family lived modestly, the children lacked for nothing. Inga, the mother (39 years old): “It’s very hard for me to cope alone; it’s unbearable. But now I have to be both a mother and a father to my children. There is no other way. When my husband was by my side, I felt strong. Together, we easily handled any problems. It’s very hard for us to be without him. He was a wonderful father and husband. How sad that Maho – a kind-hearted man – left this world so early. May God take him into paradise.” Now, month to month, the family lives on social allowance and the pension for their asthmatic child. This barely covers food and medications. Giorgi needs expensive medications every month.

“Lord, help me survive for the sake of my children,” Koba repeats over and over again. The man has brain cancer, and he is tormented by terrible headaches. A giant tumor already occupies 90 percent of his brain. His condition worsens with each passing day. He needs urgent surgery. This is the only chance for him to survive, and we cannot miss it if we want to save the man! May these words reach your hearts and echo with kind actions! Any help you provide will increase Koba’s chances of recovery! Please help save his life! Time is not on his side right now, but we can change this, as there is treatment. We just need to help him get through it!

In 2017, 64-year-old Tiniko had a cancerous tumor removed from her bladder, but no money was left for follow-up checkups or tests for the poor woman! Instead, they gave her construction materials so she wouldn’t die early under the ruins of her house—a house worse and more terrifying than anything we’ve seen in all our years of work! Oh, and they gave her 50 lari a month to live on! Just look at this crooked shack, standing on rotten beams. Now imagine, for a second, this elderly woman being tasked with rebuilding her house. Such care, right? Oh Lord, Lord, don’t judge harshly those who do not know you! Read this post to the end, and feel this tragedy with your heart, kind people!

When he was just a month and a half old, he had heart surgery. However, it wasn’t enough. The child’s condition is still critical, and according to doctors, he may need a second, more complex surgery, which requires further tests. The poor single mother doesn’t have the money to take them to the doctor. What I’m about to tell you, dear readers, is truly horrifying, and it is very hard for me to write these words, but you need to know this.  The twin brothers have only one teat, and when they both cry at the same time, their mother has to take turns giving it to them. God, just the thought of this is enough to drive someone mad.

Illness doesn’t ask permission to come—it strikes children, adults, regardless of age. It enters a family, dividing life into “before” and “after”… It brings fear, pain, and uncertainty. No one is immune to it… And it’s so important that kind people are nearby at such moments. We thank you, Lord, for sending us this beautiful child, little Elene.  Thank you for giving us a chance to save her from pain and endless suffering! Please help! Look at this photo! For a moment, it might seem as though someone opened a grave and photographed someone long deceased. But 43-year-old Indira is still alive. Her heart still beats. But this young woman is being consumed alive by stage four cancer. Two years ago, while pregnant with her third child, she was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. She was operated on fifteen times in just a month and a half. God, it’s hard to believe. Since June, she’s been unconscious in intensive care.

One fateful day, the peaceful village of Babi in the Kharagauli municipality was engulfed by the terrifying roar of fire. The house where eight children lived was completely consumed by flames. Thank God, all the children made it out unharmed, but imagine how painful it must be to see your beloved home, your cherished belongings, books, and toys burned to ashes. The family lived in poverty and didn’t own a single valuable item, but our love for things doesn’t come from their price. Sometimes expensive things mean nothing to us. Sometimes a cheap item is far more precious. Friends of the Fund, winter is coming soon to the mountain village, and these little angels will have to bathe outside in the freezing cold. Then, after catching colds, they’ll lie down on sheets spread out on the floor, because they don’t have beds. Cold wind will blow in through the broken window onto the sick children. There’s no pharmacy in the village. Somehow, these children survived last winter. But they won’t make it through another… 

Irma chains to a rusty bed in a five-square-meter dark room and suffers… The woman has no husband or children. Her parents are also dead. Yes, the poor woman is completely alone and cannot even get out of bed to drink water. Irma was completely healthy, but the death of her beloved mother affected her so much that she developed an insidious disease. The woman began having problems with mobility back in 2009. However, due to poverty, she was unable to see a doctor. Poor Irma’s health worsened after the death of her mother. In 2019, doctors diagnosed the poor woman with multiple sclerosis.

Become a good wizard – help the children. Each of these little ones is waiting for help and hoping for a miracle. Together, we can bring joy to these angels and create a comfortable living environment for them! First and foremost, the children need clothes and shoes, they need to be prepared for kindergarten and school, and the family needs beds, mattresses, a wardrobe for their clothes, and help to repair the ceiling. These well-mannered, smart, and humble kids will never forget the kindness you show them!  By helping others, you draw closer to God!  

Look at this wooden hut. Even cattle would be spared and would not be allowed to spend the night here. However, unfortunately, it is not cattle that live here, but these five angelic children. At the slightest breath of wind, the house rocks like a cradle. Before going to bed, the children ask God for the morning to come for them. At this age, children think about toys. In the Khachiperadze family, the only concern of the children is to save their own lives. These brick walls were built with the help of the local government for the Khachiperadze family (Baghdad Municipality, Obcha village). However, there are only walls here. No floor, no windows. The children’s mother, Inga Samadalashvili, who is raising five children all by herself, is embarrassed to ask kind people for help, although she has a great desire to do so. Before leaving, the five little angels, with tears in their eyes, addressed the Fund’s correspondent – “Auntie, Mom has no money to finish building this house. If kind people help us, to make at least just the ceiling and the floor, we promise that when we grow up and work, we will repay these people with kindness.” 

Irma, 33 years old (mother): The day goes by without a crumb in our mouths. Neither me with my husband nor my children. We eat stale bread with pepper that grows in the garden. My husband and I grew up in a poor family ourselves, and we know what poverty is. Nevertheless, we do not want our children to experience what we had to experience. My heart bleeds when we see the boys crying from hunger! I beg you – help us feed our sons! We do not even have a refrigerator to store food; the food spoils quickly. If your children, God forbid, were starving, what would you do? Would you beg? Maybe you would steal? Think about it for a minute. What would it be like to see your little son or daughter crying from hunger? 

Poor blind Darejan! She has no money for medicine and eye drops, but she worries about this last of all. The poor woman’s house is falling apart before her eyes: the floor has rotted and caved in, and when it rains, water flows from the ceiling in three streams. The windows are crumbling from old age, and instead of glass, there is plywood nailed on. A blind grandmother, her daughter and granddaughter survive on a pension and the child’s orphanage allowance. No matter how hard they try to repair the house and buy the necessary equipment, they will not be able to. All hope remains that the sad story of the family will touch hearts, and people will lend a helping hand. Let us do everything in our power to make life easier for our compatriots! No one is obliged by the laws of Georgia to help sick children and the disadvantaged! However, what a miracle of God it is when you and I have a chance to save the unfortunate. They have nowhere else to expect help except from us! 

Beautiful Barbara was born with a rare anomaly – one leg is shorter than the other by as much as 16 centimeters! She would like to run and jump like other children, but the girl can barely walk, leaning on her short leg. Barbara, 9 years old: You know, I love my short leg! Even though it hurts. I get tired quickly; I cannot walk for long, much less run. I hardly leave the house. Moreover, if I do, they carry me in their arms. I feel very sorry for my grandmother, because I’m heavy, she gets tired. Her back hurts afterwards. The Turkish clinic can help the child. The surgeon agreed to perform a complex operation. He gave guarantees that Barbara will not only be able to stand on her feet, but even run and play sports.

Lamara can’t go a minute without her mother’s help. She is 14 years old, but she can neither walk, nor stand, nor sit. Since childhood, the girl has been confined to a wheelchair and … to her mother. Yes, the poor mother’s lower back is paralyzed, but she is ready to carry her daughter in her arms as long as she lives.

Badri (father, 54 years old): It was 4 in the morning when we heard a loud crack. I grabbed the sleeping children and ran outside. The day before the tragedy, we decided to move to the next room— perhaps we sensed something bad was coming. We went to sleep with fear, worrying that the ceiling might collapse on us. And the worst happened. Friends, these little angels can melt the hardest of hearts. How could anyone remain indifferent to such a plight?  Eight children are begging us for help. They don’t want to live in these terrible conditions; they just want to go home. Let’s unite and repair the roof for this family, who has given Georgia eight wonderful and decent children. 

This is Saba, a 5-year-old boy with cerebral palsy. He struggles to walk and crawls on his knees. Despite everything, he’s a very smart and emotional child. But fate wasn’t satisfied with just one cruel illness for this poor boy. Saba also has an open heart valve and strabismus. Kind-hearted people, now every hour counts. The child urgently needs massage therapy because his muscles are weakening by the day, and soon, once he falls to his knees, he might never be able to get up again. This means that Saba could be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. And he’s such a bright, clever boy… He will suffer, bedridden. Please, let’s not abandon this poor boy, left by his father. Any donation you can make, no matter how small, will make a big difference. Saba knows that a kind stranger will share his story with good-hearted people. This clever boy is full of hope.  Let’s not disappoint him. He’s already been let down once, and the wound from that heartbreak hasn’t healed yet.

How to live on the fifth floor without an elevator if you are a wheelchair user? Seriously ill Levan found himself literally trapped in his own home. For several years now, in order to go outside, a guy has been crawling down on his knees from the fifth floor, and then crawling up the same way. We believe that after hearing the story of Levan and his exhausted mother, you will tell your family, friends, neighbors about it, and repost it on social networks. Levan has all the opportunities to get back on his feet. Only this costs a lot of money, which the family does not have. Please, help! 

Gio (6 years old): “My little brother is 9 months old, mother’s milk is not enough for him, and he cries all day from hunger. What should we feed him? The only edible thing we have at home is stale bread. Little Nikoloz won’t be able to chew it, he doesn’t have any teeth yet. But mom has no money for anything else.” Mariam: “If someone has the opportunity to shelter us, to give us one room, I will be immensely grateful. Or, perhaps, there will be a kind person who will help with renting an apartment? We live in an emergency building that can collapse at any moment. What will happen to my children? And where will we go?” Just imagine for a moment that such a misfortune happened to you or your loved ones. What would you do? Help this unfortunate woman raise two sons for the future of our country, our beloved Georgia! There is no one to help her. Her father is dead, her mother is disabled, and she herself needs help. If you do not help such needy people as Mariam and her children, then who does?

This is 15-year-old Iosif. As a result of the doctors’ negligence, the child received a birth injury. As usual, no one was held accountable for the crippled life! And the boy who could now play football with our children, enjoy health and youth, oh horror, was completely paralyzed. For 15 years now, Iosif has been unable to walk, unable to speak, and suffers from epileptic seizures. Before the child underwent surgery to rehabilitate his joints, he could still move his legs with difficulty. After the surgery, the boy’s condition worsened, and his epileptic seizures increased. Look at the child’s hand, look at the inscription on his bracelet – “Give Life”. Joseph extended his tiny hand to the foundation’s correspondent and begged for help with his eyes. His heart seemed to sense that an unknown aunt had come to his hospital room to say to all of Georgia: “Give Iosif life”.

The child grows up in extreme poverty. But what torments the girl more than poverty is soul pain. After all, Lizi knows: if something happens to her mother, she will be left alone in this cruel world! Cruel, because she was rejected from birth by her closest people – her father and mother’s parents! Inhumans who did not want her to be born and forced her mother (can you imagine that, friends?) to kill the unborn child in the womb. And when Darejan refused to commit this terrible sin and did not commit murder, they left her without means, threw her out like a dog, with a small child in her arms, into the street! Animals! There is no excuse for them! Darejan (47 years old): “I can’t stand this hellish pain anymore. Sometimes I think about taking a rope and hanging myself, but I immediately remember my poor girl, who has no one in the world except me. I am very embarrassed to ask strangers, but I dare to do it as a desperate mother. I beg you, people: if I die, bring my girl a pair of warm shoes that your daughter no longer wears. I am an unfortunate mother in life and out of pity for my poor girl I won’t find rest even after death.”

This is 15-year-old Gigi. The child has had cerebral palsy since birth. He cannot walk, he cannot even stand for a second. The poor child crawls on his knees. And he cannot speak either, he only makes indistinct sounds. The little boy suffers and asks for help with his eyes. The child’s condition is complicated by microcephaly, which is a rare neurological disease. The child is a disabled person of the first group. According to doctors, as a result of appropriate treatment and surgery, the child will be able to move and speak. We have a chance to perform a miracle! This is exactly the case when we can show God our best human qualities!

The fact that Zakro is alive is a real miracle! The young man ended up in a wheelchair after a giant aneurysm ruptured and, as a result of a brain hemorrhage, he underwent a complex, multi-hour operation; surgeons had to remove half of his skull and then close his brain with a special mesh. Zakro spent a long time in a coma, and only his mother’s prayer and God’s blessing helped him stay alive! Please have mercy for the mother who has been suffering with her seriously ill child for 12 years! She begs the Lord to prolong her days so she can see her son take his first independent steps! After all, if she is gone, Zakro will be all alone in this world, and there will be no one to give him a glass of water! If you have read this post to the end, be sure to help the family! A mother, sick children and husband are at death’s door! There’s no money for medications, and the children are humiliated at school! Dear people, this young woman has been rejected by everyone and abandoned in this world. She was rejected by her mother from the moment she was born. Since then, Lana has not experienced a single day of happiness in her life. Abnormal illness, poverty, hunger, humiliation… What has this poor woman done to deserve all this? She lived in a monastery for 4 years. Then, for certain reasons, she had to leave the monastery and has never looked back (the real reason was shared with the fund’s correspondent but requested to be kept confidential). Despite the unbearable hardships (both financial and medical), she has never lost her sense of dignity. Today, abandoned by everyone, Lana is dying quietly, without a sound. Just as no one rejoiced at her birth into this world, perhaps no one will mourn her passing. She may even go unnoticed…

Lali (Mother, 66 years old): “My son nearly died from pneumonia. We spent four and a half months in the hospital, and I never left Mamuka’s side, not for a minute.  He was on a ventilator. The doctors advised me to transfer him to a palliative care unit for terminal patients, but I refused” Here we see an example of selfless love and heroism from a simple Georgian woman—a Mother with a capital M. She cries bitterly because of her helplessness, and she’s embarrassed to ask for help, but she has no one else but us.  Help Lali save her only son, to whom she has devoted her entire life! Mamuka’s life is in our hands, friends! Each of you can help extend his days!
